I just wanted to share some install photos. We just finished a kitchen of One Sweet Talker. I love how it looks and I love the wider and longer planks. The customer service was again top notch. However, I hate that I have to say this but I feel like I need to share because I wish I'd known. This is our second house with Supercore and we love the company. We just finished the install Thurs. Sunday we had guests over. One of them must have had a rock stuck in their shoe or something. There's now a huge area of scratching. Almost a foot long. It's so disappointing. And I know that maybe other brands would be similar, but it just seems so soon and just under normal wear. 😕 I'll attach pictures in another comment to show how well they show up on this color.

I feel your pain about your faux wood floors. Unfortunately, I don't have a choice, I am an apartment dweller. 🫤 When they first put them in, I was thrilled, they seemed so "cool," "modern," and neutral (yep, in that fugly "greige" that's so popular now for some strange reason). Shortly thereafter, I discovered the awful truth: they're cold... in look, feel, and insulating properties (I'm in the Midwest). They're very hard and uncomfortable to walk on without shoes or squishy slippers (did they even put an underlayment down first?), they make me sound like an elephant when I walk on them, they have a weird rough "grit" to them that I can't seem to get rid of (is it because they're new?); there's no shine, they always look dirty (probably because they ARE); and every drop of water leaves a mark. It seems I'm constantly sweeping, Swiffering, wiping, vacuuming...and my apartment always has that weird "new car" smell from either the glue or the plastic itself (yay, health hazards). Not only that, but the installers were very haphazard: there are many areas of the floor that sound literally hollow when I walk over them. I then made the mistake of seeing the type of flooring that my next door neighbor has. Because her apartment is older, she has the "older" style of faux flooring: warm, gorgeous, honey colored, and inviting. It was such a marked difference from what I have, I was shocked...and very jealous. 😭 Even my former apt in another state had darker "wood" floors, but they were fabulous: soft underfoot, didn't show water or stains, easy to clean. But not these. So I'm stuck with these until I happen to move again....and since I just moved in, that will be awhile. Sigh. REAL WOOD RULES!

The Anderson windows are made of Fibrex: "We call it Fibrex® material. It's made up of reclaimed wood fiber and thermoplastic polymer that is fused together and is unique to Andersen." I'm not sure what a thermoplastic polymer is, but I don't think it is fiberglass. I live in an rural area and getting building materials is hard and tedious. So, we had a choice of 2 different types of builder grade vinyl windows and the Anderson 100s if we wanted to get something from a local supplier. We chose the Anderson 100s because they were much nicer than the vinyl choices we had. For what it's worth, my husband installed various types of windows for over 40 years starting with wood windows and aluminum and then onto vinyl. He likes these Andersons. As to your question about how I like the single-hungs. I guess it depends on which way you swing the casement window, but I'm not that fond of them because if they swing in, they take up room in the house. If they swing out, then in our windy area they tend to rattle. So, that's why we went with the single-hungs. We had to go with sliders in the basement because they are 4 foot wide, and they are fine too. Regarding facing west. Because of our lot constraints, the front of our house faces east and the back faces west. The afternoon/evening sun blasts in the windows. However, I have a beautiful view out the back and the sunsets are stunning so I can live with the sun. If you don't have a view or a compelling reason to face the back of the house to the west, I would seriously consider changing it.
