next week and the week after, anderson cooper will be hosting. i can't wait for this, i adore him!

I think Aaron has done a good job, but don't see him getting the full time gig. I can't wait for Anderson either! But I know he won't be the permanent host either. Just give it to Ken. lol.

I loved Aaron, but then I am a die hard Packers fan so was probably biased.

I watched him one night....he's so far my favorite! ♥ He looks soooooooooooooo in shape! That might inspire a few extra sit ups.

I was thinking the same thing about Aaron Rodgers as I watched last night's show. Good job! Didn't know about Buzzy Cohen hosting the Tournament of Champions. I love Buzzy! He reminds me so much of a (smart and funny) good friend of mine.

Aaron is certainly easy on the eyes! But we're not enjoying him very much as a host. Too much of a subdued personality, I think.

I thought Aaron Rogers was the best, so far, by far. He let his personality and sense of humor show, but without slowing down or interrupting the game. I'm afraid Buzzy might need the limelight a little too much. But we'll see. It's very smart of them to do this changing-host thing for a while to give us more time to get over Alex.

I think Aaron did well. I wasn't sure at first, but he relaxed after the first couple days and allowed himself to be himself and really seemed to enjoy the game and the contestants with no hint that he was uneasy, self conscious, or out of his realm. He was where he wanted to be and totally comfortable.

I finally saw Anderson Cooper host today. I don't generally see him on tv but I know who he is.

I thought he did a good job. Based on one viewing, I think he'd be a good host. Here's why: the end of the show, I was paying more attention to the game than to the host, which is what Alex said was important. He was pleasant, smooth, but still interesting. If he shows a tad more personality and enunciates as well as Mike Richards, he'll be a contender in my book.

I think the way Jeopardy tapes their shows, hosts will be able to do other things as well.

Do you think all that are hosting actually WANT the job, or are just participating for various reasons?

Anderson Cooper just might want this job. I think the CNN schedule is difficult. He also had some flack from them recently because he started a business a couple of years ago that had something to do with medical marijuana. He is an investor and is not doing anything illegal. I believe on Jeopardy they do a couple of competitions a night. So we wouldn’t have to work every day.

Also I do that all of the executive producer perhaps to one of the job. It’s prestigious and people like Katie Couric who affable could have another career. I liked her too.

I think most are participating for various reasons. But LeVar Burton definitely wants the job:

I expected to like only Ken Jennings but as it turns out I liked him second least, second to Dr Oz. Rogers grew on me after he worked through his monotone. The job doesn’t seem to take much skill. If you read a transcript it would be difficult to tell the difference between Alex or any of the guest hosts. That realization took away from Alex, for me. Anderson is a natural. He should look for a new job as he’s too smart for CNN evenings but this would be a step down.

There is actually a lot of prepping for each episode by the host. The most challenging part is the pronouncing and the pacing. The clues have to fit into the time allowed. The worst is running out of clues which can happen when you have champions. Plus people get peevish if too many clues are left on the board. The host has to slow them down or speed them up and do it without seeming to. All that chat is not just to keep things cheerful.

I think that Anderson Cooper is doing a great job as guest host, but I wouldn't want anyone who considers themselves to be a serious journalist being the full time regular host.

I also think that LeVar Burton would be great - is he even scheduled to guest host?

I am not looking forward to Buzzy's turn as guest host.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I don't even know if the guest hosts are contenders, auditioning, or just filling in while they look for a new host.

LeVar Burton really wants this job, but I prefer Anderson Cooper, although I do not know whether he wants to be a permanent host.

It's typical for game shows to record a week's worth of shows in one day. When I went to be on Hollywood Squares, I had to take four changes of clothes, as did everyone else. They really do not edit all that much out from the raw footage, and so it's pretty easy to get five hours of usable video in one day.

Let Kenan Thompson of SNL host for at least one show, bet that would set a new ratings record.
