Incredible Edibles Upcoming Events Calendar
Comments (103)I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I am hosting the January Swap and I noticed how early things seem to pop up for the Incredible Edible Swaps. Anyway, I will try to get this one listed by Dec. 8. I know it is hard to find seeds right now but hopefully everyone has some stashed away. I would like to allow seeds saved from your garden and partial packets of seeds for the January Winter Sowing Seed Swap. First of all, to help out if you don't have many appropraite seeds and secondly, I think some who sign up for the swap may not have winter sowed before so when experimenting, no need to do that with a lot of seeds! When I post the heading, I will include some sites that give guidlelines on what type of seeds to sow when and according to zones. I found that the herbs, tomatoes, and summer squash that I winter sowed were really vigorous plants. Some herbs do great, too. I have only been winter sowing for two years so I am not an expert, but I really think it is a wonderful method for planting. Jeanne...See MoreUpcoming Weekend Is Dumpster Weekend
Comments (35)WTG! (or WTKG?-- way to keep going). It sounds like the dumpster was well worth it. After DH and I bought our house, it seemed like everybody and his brother was renovating a house and the local waste management places did not have any dumpsters to rent out. We needed to get rid of a houseful of carpet and padding. Fortunately, the backyard is enclosed and we live in a place where it doesn't rain much (and didn't that whole summer), so we ended up slicing up the carpet and filling the big, rolling garbage bin about halfway with carpet each week-- for weeks and weeks on end. We did eventually get rid of it, but I'm always reminded about how you eat an elephant, one bite at a time. You can't do everything with a regular trash can, but you can do a lot! Especially if you pace yourself. The Barbies sound important to you. Maybe they are worth putting up on ebay?...See MoreJeopardy hosts-Mayim
Comments (57)I watched the Today show on NBC for years. I always liked Katie Couric, but I remember being less than impressed when Savannah, who was NBC's top legal analyst, was named co-host. So I guess I understand why some might not react well to her on Jeopardy. But I grew to like her a lot. I think she's a really nice person, and an excellent interviewer. And I agree with Eld--no way is she interested in becoming the permanent Jeopardy host. Did anyone notice the pitch Mayim made for the job on her last day? At the end of the show she said her role as host was a great fit with her experience as both an actor and a neuroscientist....See MoreHow's Jeopardy doing?
Comments (44)I'm fine with Mike Richards. Before Alex Trebek began hosting Jeopardy! he had hosted several other game shows, like High Rollers, Classic Concentration, and To Tell the Truth. Mike's resume isn't much different. I really wouldn't expect any of the journalists would want to be a permanent game show host, not even a prestigious game show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Trebek...See Morecarabubble
