I’ll keep an open mind. I was looking forward to KJ, then didn’t love it, now am sorry his run is coming to an end. Some I’m looking forward to less than others but we’ll see. I’d be just fine if they left well enough alone and gave KJ a job.

I'm disappointed that Levar Burton isn't on the list. I think that he would be an excellent Jeopardy! host.

I rarely watch the show but I of course know about it and I'd suggest it's a fitting tribute to a long time and beloved icon (Trebek) that following his death, no one person is immediately installed as his replacement. Instead, using a succession of temporary hosts is about as respectful as could be. Which even if these are trials, auditions for the ultimate choice if there is one, conveys the message that no one can replace him. At least not immediately.

I think that's exactly why they are doing it this way Elmer.

I don't watch Jeopardy but would definitely tune in for an episode to see Anderson Cooper (is he definitely taking a turn or is that a rumour?), Dr Sangay Gupta (same question) and I would certainly watch Lt. Geordie La Forge aka Levar Burton. He did Reading Rainbow which my kids loved.

Oz actually has a demonstrated style of delivery that seems like it would work well.

I didn't have strong opinions about who might be the new host, though I know it;s so hard (impossible?) to fill Alex 's shoes. Looking at that list though, I think there are maybe 2 I am not familiar with. The ones I do know, I am NOT looking forward to at all.

I agree. Dr Oz is creepy, an embarrassment to the medical profession and a menace to the general public who don't realize what a w**** for money he is. His participation and endorsements remain available for sale to the highest bidders, no matter how much he needs to prostitute himself for the bucks.

I think that journalists are fine as guest hosts, but not as regular hosts - that is if they want to maintain their journalistic credibility. A one off thing is different than switching to being an entertainer.

(I know, many will argue that they are already considered entertainers.)

I seldom watch the show but I do think it’s good to have these candidate/interim hosts if that is indeed what they are. There are several on the list that I personally would not like to see as permanent hosts, and I cannot believe some would even consider it.

I think KJ would be an excellent host, but I also think Mayim Bialik (for her intelligence) and Katie Couric with her experience in front of a camera would be excellent.

I doubt they're all trying out for a permanent position. I read that Katie Couric expressed interest in the job, but there's some concern about political remarks she made recently. I don't see anything about her getting removed from the list though.

I definitely could do without Dr. Oz, but I look forward to watching Anderson Cooper and Savannah Guthrie.

I was just reading that the last 5 time champ on Jeopardy! has died, Brayden Smith age 24. Very sad :(

Brayden Smith, the ruthless “Jeopardy!” contestant Alex Trebek dubbed “Billy Buzzsaw” because of his ability to cut through his competition, has died. He was 24.

Smith was a five-day champion, and one of the last to compete in the Trebek “Jeopardy!” era. Many fans compared him to James Holzhauer because of his tendency to land on the Daily Doubles and his fearlessness in making large wagers.

Trebek, who was undergoing treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer at the time, was visibly delighted by Smith’s abilities.

“Most impressive, I don’t know what to say,” the 80-year-old host said at one point during Smith’s run.

I enjoyed Alex's ability to show that he was really pulling for each and every contestant. It isn't easy to get on the show and he honored each of them for getting there.

I wasn’t all that impressed with Katie, although I like her in general. She came across as too scripted. She hardly made any off the cuff remarks, which Alex did so well. Not fair to compare the two, of course.

I think Tom Bergeron (former host of America's Funniest Home Videos and Dancing With the Stars) would be a good host. He has a great sense of humor and a strong enough personality to make the show his own and not try to be an Alex clone, which is sort of what's been going on so far.

Aaron Rogers is smart! And a very personable guy.

I agree, Dedtired. Katie did a good. basic job but did not seem natural and relaxed.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I doubt I was ever natural and relaxed on my first day of a new job. I loved the red shoes! :-)

It's cute that Katie admits to not knowing some of the answers. Alex never did that.

I think Katie is doing really well so far. For those saying she doesn't appear natural and relaxed, I get it, but although she has spent her career in front of a camera, game show hosting still has to be very, very different than anything she's done. The timing, the tempo, the rules of the game, getting straight who goes next, all while maintaining personality, contestant interaction, and pronunciation of all of those names and places she's likely never heard of.....all in a relatively short amount of time has to be a huge challenge! And, to have to go after two gentlemen who have significant familiarity with the show and all of its nuances? I give her a ton of credit.
