Best sized pots for roses?

I lost my mind apparently; I'm like 90% sure I'm about to buy more roses. And I don't have the in ground space for them, so I'm going to pot them up and hope for the best. My plan is to keep them in there temporarily, maybe a couple of years at most, but in theory I'd like to observe which ones knock my socks off and which don't and based off that roses will be shuffled around so that the best ones get a spot in the ground.
Anyways, what is a good sized pot? Large enough for the rose to be happy, small enough to be able to actually move them when it comes time to winter protect, etc. I know some of you are pros at rose gardening in pots!
