How do I avoid sawdust, doing baseboard in a finished room?
Comments (11)I ran baseboard for years as Casey described... measure your cuts, make a list, go to remote cutting area, go back and nail. We also used to use this same method on a two man production team, one guy "nailer" makes list for room or next few sections, hands list to "cutter", cutter brings back and scatters ahead of nailer.. repeat/repeat/repeat to do a complete house. Same method works equally well for casing and crown molding. On new construction as well as major remodels we would typically have a "shop" set up in a garage or large room for all cutting and sawdust, this way painters as well as other trades can continue working......See MoreHow much baseboard can I add???
Comments (0)I am adding a bedroom, bathroom, and entertainment room to my walkout basement and am planning on installing hydronic baseboard heat myself while I have the professionals hook it up to my combination boiler Navien CH-210. I put A LOT of research in and I believe I figured out how much baseboard I should install (please correct me if I’m wrong though) to ensure that I heat my basement enough in the winter months (Rhode Island), but will my boiler be able to handle the addition of a second zone, first one being my main floor? I plan on installing 36 linear feet of BB in the entertainment room, 12 feet in the bedroom, 6 feet in bathroom, water temp would be 170° at 4gpm (I don’t know how to set the flow rate though, so rate and temp may need to vary 🤷🏼♂️) Below is technical info that may help in answering and sorry for the information over load, I just don’t want to get this wrong lol. Navien CH-210 ASME MAWP, Water 30psi Max water temp 203° Heating surface 28.6 sqft Min relief valve capacity 175,000 btu/hr Min/Max input rating 20,000/175,000 btu/h 264 gph Entertainment room with exterior door and window 385 sqft Bedroom with exterior window - with and w/o closet 120/140 sqft Bathroom with exterior window 64 sqft Cement slab floor with rug or laminate TBD exterior walls are cement with 2x4 framing and insulation Ceiling 2x8 with insulation....See MoreI want to avoid buying a set; how do you mix and match furniture?
Comments (126)@kw this is for our living room sofa. We actually narrowed it down to these two and have two more on their way: left is 94% polyester, 6% nylon, right is 53% cotton, 47% polyester. both are "performance" fabrics which i didn't seek out nor am i super thrilled about but from what i've ready they've come a long way. trying to find out now whether they're Crypton or Revolution. these are the other two on their way to us. 92% polyester, 8% linen NOT performance: 100% polyester, performance fabric:...See MoreHow Can I Avoid A Rose Cutting Massacre?
Comments (4)Water it when the mix feels dry to touch an inch or two below the surface. Do not overwater though, that is the one thing that would likely kill the fledging cutting. I would not worry about problems that do not exist at least for now (disease). I have kept fully grown roses indoors. They can get spider mites, mildew, sawflies etc. but nothing that will kill it before it can go outside. You can use grow lights and there are cheap ones you can buy on internet shopping cites but it can also live with the morning sun until it can be set out. Let the bottle be until you are ready to transplant/sure it has enough roots to not die if you disturb it. I would wait to fertilize until I am sure it has rooted. Also, it is not getting enough light so better wait. A cutting would not survive in the basement, an established plant would. I would not put in a dark basement its status is suspect. Kepp it in a cooler well lit place for best chances of survival....See MoreShannon Hunter
