Pool table that is on the way to replace the table in the dining room!

Love that you are repurposing your DR to a pool room. Party, party..

Is the felt on the table going to be the blue? You say you need an ottoman but I don't see any place to put down drinks, etc. So is that something that has to be taken into consideration, too? Do you have plans for that bookshelf in the DR? And what about lighting above the table.

I know you wanted answers but need to figure out the other stuff first if you want a functioning place.

@tedbixby yes, felt is blue. I was going to put a tray on the ottoman for drinks. But I’m also open to a coffee table of sorts. The bookshelf is staying. this is the pool table light I have in my shopping cart, but I’m not sold on it yet because it might be too industrial?

Blue tape the pool table out on your floor as I wonder if you have enough walk way around it to have the bookcase there. Also, have you measured the table in the space to allow enough room to pull the cues back and all around the table?

And as far as the light, do you know if it can be installed? And even centered over the table? Just wondering since it appears you are in a condo and some of those ceilings there is no access to do so once the ceiling is put up.

@tedbixby yep, I did measure it out. But good idea to tape down the dimensions. centering the light is definitely a concern. This is a townhome, so I can move it, but I’ll have to see what makes sense.

Tape it out and then you'll be able to tape out the light fixture on the floor, too, to see if it makes sense. Are you hanging the cues and equipment on the wall to the right of the door there?

The next step is to figure out the tv console. Have you looked at IKEA?

@tedbixby there’s some space on the left of the windows behind the bookcase (not pictured) that was I going to put the cues. Definitely have considered IKEA, but it seems I may have to put 2 pieces together. Not sure they have much options for such a large TV

Do you have a budget for the console? You probably have found that having to go to a much larger size it limits the choices/prices.

I just looked at Wayfair at their floating consoles. There are some larger ones that aren't budget busters. Don't know the quality. Did you check there? I don't know if you want floating but thought I'd start there. It's a more contemporary look and I think it will keep your space feeling a bit open.

@tedbixby to be honest, I’m pretty conflicted on the size and type Of console. I know the rule of thumb is to have a console bigger than the tv. But I wonder if such a large console will look too bulky in this room. It’ll span almost the entire wall. Also, we only have about 30” from floor to bottom of the TV. So I was wondering if a floating console will look silly since it’ll have to float pretty low. Overall, just a mess on the console side.

Is that a regulation-size pool table? Is there room to play pool without breaking a window or knocking a glass off the kitchen counter?
