Comments (153)Purplepansies Blue Louise--I love the combination of the copper brown and the blue. Florantha Starry Night--Good job finding swirly tile. I tried this exercise, but was stumped searching for swirly tile. I love the dark blue drapes. Purplepansies Approaching Thunder Storm--Oooh, I love the artwork! You did a great job of capturing the colors and the mood of the painting. I love the magma supreme granite. Honorbiltkit Vuillard--Also a beautiful painting, full of interesting details and patterns. You captured the color of the rug in the painting, and the painting you chose for your design does a great job of mimicking the painting in the painting. If that makes any sense. Palimpsest Vuillard--You also did a great job of capturing the colors of the painting, playing up the neutrals a bit compared to Honorbiltkit. The floor--is it Marmoleum?--mimics the colors of the rug. Style-wise, the table is unexpected, but I really like it in the design. Pricklypearcactus Lanadscape with Butterflies--I like the interplay of colors in your kitchen just as much as in the original painting. I just want to say how very much I've enjoyed this thread. I liked the artwork, I liked the kitchens, and I liked all the creative thinking that went into putting them together....See MoreLiving room design help
Comments (31)Thank you all so much for you’re help. So much detail it will allow me to make some good design choices. Now, the shag rug will be gone. It made the room feel smaller and stuffy... it’ll go in my master bedroom where it fits a bit better. I saw some ones online that i really like. How do you all think they will do in the room? The shag rug previously in there was 8x10 and felt way too big. So i get a new one a size smaller? I have also included a picture of three pieces of furniture I may be able to work into the room. Thanks again!!...See MoreHelp with built in cabinets idea for small living room, builder grade
Comments (13)And here's a long shot of the total effect. They look a lot like built-ins. Because they AREN'T built-ins, we left a bigger space above the counter (partly because the TV needed it, but even if it hadn't, I'd have left a space so it looked like there was a "reason" we switched from one to the other. NOW...our fireplace is a bigger focal point than your TV, and our wall juts out there. So we left that big display space. Plus, we have no windows. In YOUR case, w/ those windows taking up so much of the wall, and your TV so low (and it being a TV, which to me is more functional and less decorative), I might consider whether I wanted a built-in look in the middle as well--sort of a "full wall" effect, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, with an empty space where the TV goes. If I wanted to do that, I'd want a backing on my upper shelves so it looked more like the whole thing was one unit. And with a "full wall" effect, I might even consider whether I wanted it all to be painted the same color as the other walls (or maybe white like the woodwork), so it was less like "kitchen cabinetry" or "furniture" and more like "part of the room / woodwork." That would keep the full wall of storage from overpowering the room, perhaps....See MoreWhat rug for small condo living room?
Comments (71)Very nice. I really like the artwork over your kitchen desk. You might consider a subtle wallpaper or a different color paint just for the wall behind the tv. You don't want small art since you have the shelves on the area to the left, but I think it would be nice to have something simple on that wall. Or just use a mount for your guitar on the wall to the left of the tv. It clears the floor space and provides some interest at the same time. Great space!...See MoreUser
