jellytoast, Well... We did the larger bathroom earlier in the spring. We did the small bathroom last fall And my daughter and I slipped in a full gut and remodel on one of our bathrooms at home over Christmas break. She did almost all the work with me as the guide. Super fun. I've had just about enough of bathrooms for a while - but we are putting a half one upstairs in a few months. There's none up there now (house built in 1938). We need to replace all the windows in the house, so I'm planning on doing the big, expensive ones in September - if the weather holds. We are in Oregon, who knows what it will be like. I also want to do the pantry. It's just some larger and nicer shelving. And... I'm going to be building some log furniture in the coming weeks, teaching a few people how to do it. Looking for design ideas for long “bowling alley“ shaped living room and dining room. Would like to have a TV but didn’t want to put TV over fireplace and was hoping to do something fun and beachy over the fireplace. Was thinking about putting TV on large wall but is it odd to put a couch under the window? Husband says yes. Heat is also under the window so a bit concerned about putting couch there. Help!

I think this rug could work well for you, with your Coastal vibe - plus the tile. This rug has some light blues in the color - but the design of the rug comes across as a neutral, overall - and is very versatile. Doesn’t lock you into any particular color scheme. And it is casual, yet has a certain understated elegance, I think. You can dress it up or dress it down. I agree with res2, some hint of shingle style but there's no craftsman there. And as others have said, houses are best designed as a whole.... plans, elevations and sections all thought of simultaneously. Steve Jobs perhaps said it well: "People think it's this veneer — that the designers are handed this box and told, 'Make it look good!' That's not what we think design is. It's not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” Also, this isn't the 90's anymore. Some sort of 3D image(s), even if rough, is pretty much the industry standard now.
