Here's the Freezer Cole Slaw: 1 medium head cabbage, shredded 1 carrot, grated 1 bell pepper, chopped fine Add 1 t. salt to vegetables and let stand one hour. While vegetables are standing, make a syrup of: 1 cup vinegar 1/4 cup water 1 t. celery seed 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 t. whole mustard seed Mix dressing ingredients together and boil 1 minute. Let syrup stand until lukewarm and pour over cabbage. Put into containers the correct size to use at one meal. Freeze. Note: this slaw may be kept in the refrigerator unfrozen up to one week. If you just use the "primer",that is the portland cement mixed with water to a workable consistancy, you can use THAT as the patch. About 20 years ago, my dad used this technique on spalded concrete treads on his front porch. Those steps STILL look good today. But be sure to scrub a coat of it on those areas first and while it's still wet, fill it in with the rest of the "primer." And be sure to use good wetting techniques on the concrete first or the water will get sucked out of the patch and THAT is what leads to lots of concrete repair failures. Even doing this after a good rain is one of the most ideal conditions. Try contacting some concrete suppliers. We have some around here who will sell you the sealer they use. It seems to work a lot better than the DIY stuff. It's ugly stuff--has a terrible petroleum odor, but maybe that's why it lasts so long. Good luck.

From what I can tell, the kitchen fan/ceiling light is the next thing upstream from the outlet from where the microwave outlet was installed. Its a Casa Habitat http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QSLKDW/?tag=servmasru-20 I wanted to check the wiring in the ceiling above it where its connected, so I started taking it apart. Its can be described as two levels, one for the light and one for the fan. I took off the first level and was disconnecting the wire that goes from the fan upper part to the light lower part. Its a snap together piece...just need a small pointed object to push in a hole to unsnap it. After I did that, the living room light came on and I checked the microwave outlet with tester and plugged in a clock and it works. So all the power is on to where its supposed to be. The kitchen fan/ceiling light is also working. Anyone know what the problem is? Is there a GFCI in the light fixture somewhere in the light fixture? I looked, but could not find one. Should I try plugging in the microwave again and see what happens or is there something I should check on something else first? Though it seems like I reset something in the kitchen ceiling fan/light when I unsnapped it. Thanks for your time

Thank you all! If we remove it (and we need to because I don't trust this situation), patch it, etc. does that mean that the entire kitchen and great room ceiling will have to be painted? Do you paint a textured ceiling or do they have to "texture" the entire two rooms again? This house is 20 years old and nothing has been maintained. I did like cat_ky idea of maybe putting a ceiling medallion. I wonder if they make square ones - I will look that up. She has to have an electrician come and check everything. The owner has weird electrical wiring ALL over this house especially the basement. None of the outlets in the basement work. He sheetrocked in the WATER SHUT OFF VALVE when he finished the basement himself... Oh my....
