Wall colors to suit a caramel/tan leather sectional sofa.

Hello, turning to the knowledgeable folks here for some color selection. I'm looking to put this leather sectional against the window looking such that ottoman lines up against the window and the rest of the living area accomodates a dining table. I'm thinking of putting an accent color on the far away wall. Any thoughts and tips on what would look good with the sofa of our choice?

FYI, you are showing a right facing chaise and for it to fit under the front window, you need a left facing chaise.

I don't get it....the sectional will be facing the room divider.

Why not put the dining table in that area? Chose a rectangular table and place it perpendicular to the window.

I am more than happy to share where this stuff came from and am extremely flattered. The rug is the "Brice" rug from Pottery Barn, 9 X 12. The sectional is made by Jonathan Louis. It is called "Knobhill" and the fabric is called Basil Flannel. I got it at a local furniture store but I saw somewhere that Jonathan Louis furniture might be available at Macy's. The website has a dealer locator: http://jonathanlouis.net/. One armchair is coming this evening. I am going to arrange it all again and post another photo. This is immensely helpful and I am just sorry that I can't try every suggestion! Have a spare small desk in the garage, and will try whatever else I can get my patient DH to do. To make things more complicated, I found out that I can order another piece for the sectional. Since I bought the floor model I didn't think of it before. It will seamlessly extend the longer side another 28". That side will def. have to go against the wall (as in the first photos), but the room will be filled out a little more. Yet another option! I think I have decided against exchanging for a sofa/loveseat. One more question: when moving the sofa away from the wall, how far should it be? Just enough to balance things, or enough for an acutal person to pass through?

Forgot to add...I envy your sectional choice. That's exactly what I want in our fam. rm., but that would mean selling our caramel colored really cute leather loveseat, AND my DH's navy Lane recliner with mission style arms & he loves that chair. It's a hard room (small tv rm adjoining our kitchen), and I should have fought for the sectional when we bought the house 6 years ago!!! Oh, well, maybe the new round rug will make me smile with that room. Will you post photos when you get your new furniture & rug, which I also love, btw, as well as your dark floors.

@Anne Smith they are both comfortable to me (i had heard ery good things from axis owners) - for the 88" length the Metro deep is a little deeper - 43" vs 41"i think on axis overall and the "interior" depth from back cushioin to front edge of seat cushion is like 28/29" whereas i think it's more like 25 on axis. Metro seat cushions feel a little more "cushiony"/"springy" (but not soft) than axis which felt "firmer" - i think becausethe seat cushions on Metro (deep version only) are spring down (so coils in them) vs pure foam wrapped with down i . Also i think the back frame on Axis is taller and i think feels like it sits a bit more "upright" (the back of Metro feels more like C&B lounge sofa than Axis). Although the douglas fabric on Axis is very durable, the look was a little too "suedey" for me, and i couldn't use the ice or white color - I needed more of an ivory (so i would have gotten Icon pearl) . The ivory sumner fabric on the Metro is really nice (100% polypropylene)

This off topic, but I thought I’d mention it. I have a vintage caramel leather chair from pottery barn that I had near a window. It was a rich creamy caramel colour and the change was so gradual I didn’t notice it until several months later. The light really does a number on leather and areas where the light/sun hit the chair has lightened the leather a lot. Those parts are more a grayish caramel and I wish I’d noticed it sooner. I’ve moved the chair away from the windows but the damage is done. Just a heads up since you said you wanted to put your couch in front of the window.

I love your new layout but agree that you have to address sun fade if you are placing the sofa that close to the window. I wonder if you can apply a window film that blocks rays without sacrificing a view?

@Judianna20 - I have uploaded a rough sketch to give you a better idea of what I'm planning for the layout. The Sofa would be up against the window with the dining area on the other side. like the recommendations on the carpets!

@Preslie, I hadn't considered that so I'm definitely worried now. Will research HU-543896853s suggestion of a film for the windows hopefully something good comes up.

Any suggestions on the colors? I'm going with Behr Cottage White on three sides, need one for the far side wall that isn't a shade of white and would complement the couch.
