Ramblings about finishes and Omega Dynasty whites
Comments (22)Hi, sxp245! Your project sounds amazing. So, though I still am conflicted about it, we ended up changing our kitchen a little--mainly due to the problem of how to coordinate our wood floor with the smokey grey cabinets. We went with a dark blue painted island, white quartz counters everywhere, and the Pearl Omega cabinets. If I could go back, I probably would have done the calacatta quartz at least on the island. I didn't find great info on the Vadara product we were considering, and it seems there weren't as many cool marble-like quartz options then. I do think the smokey gray/calacutta/Pearl cabinets is a winning combination. My friend who is a designer and has a great eye for color pulled those 3 together and felt like they worked really well. I think that combination would be beautiful--and both cool and classic! :) On another note, the Omega cabinets do seem to be good quality, and the finish has held up well, despite the workout they get from my kids! Best of luck with your project! I would love to see photos of the finished product!...See MoreDoes anyone have photos of MSI Calacatta Arno counters?
Comments (262)I just went to the MSI showroom to view slabs. The slabs of Arno I saw had dark gold veining only with a bright white background. No other colors or variation. It was pretty. I'm on the fence. Our contractor said to look for jumbo sizes only. I wasn't expecting that and now feel somewhat limited. Arno is pretty and comes in prefab and jumbo size. Check out Vadara Quartz. I prefer their quartz colors. I also went to their showroom and I think their quartz is gorgeous....See MoreMSI Calacatta Prado - looking for pictures
Comments (121)Karen, accessible beige would look awesome. Would love to see it finished if you do end up using the Prado. Prado absolutely has the warmth and brown in the vein, with some gray too. Plus, the Prado looks way more natural IMO to all the other Quartz. If you like the look of the Prado, you should also look into Vadara Quartz if it’s available near you. Vadara will be a little more $ probably. But they’re my fav manufacturer, about 75% of their colors are also extremely natural looking. Not so much of that stark artificial white, but more of a milky marble looking style. Look up Sereno Gold or Calacatta Oro. Those would also look fantastic with the beige paint. 😊...See MoreQuartz Counter installed doesn't look like sample!!
Comments (35)@Szasta Hi! Did you get the new countertop installed yet? I JUST got back from the stone yard and picked Calacatta Ultra for our new kitchen counters. What you went through was awful and I was scared for a second reading all the posts in the thread but it sounds like yours was a special mistake situation and I am glad they are fixing it for you - and I'm gonna try and not worry about my kitchen counters :))) BTW - I saw the slabs in person and it is STILL difficult to know if it truly the pure white I want. The slab was partially covered in film and was dirty. So annoying. Keeping fingers crossed it all works out. Please post a pic of the corrected stone/countertop if you have had it installed!...See Morehari p
