I think I would just paint instead. Your clothes will cover any wallpaper you do and painting is a lot cheaper. I think reorganizing your closet will make a big difference. Color coordinate your clothes, replace hangers so they’re all the same. Baskets or some type of containers for storage. A light fixture if you can will add a little something. Can you close your closet doors from view?

I agree with paint over wallpaper. Unless you keep the left wall bare and wallpaper that wall (and the back of shelves), I fear wallpapering this space will take a lot of effort for minimal reward. I'd splurge on lighting and perhaps a pretty rug instead.

ETA: Since you're keeping the shoe cabinet on the left wall, how about wallpapering it as well as the wall?

You'll eventually tire of the wallpaper too, but you'll probably feel it is too expensive to rip out and do over. Paint is cheap, colorful and easy to change when you have a whim. Once you get the hanging space and shelves under control and sensible looking, revisit the wall issue. Have you followed Marie Kondo? Her method for folding clothes saved me a ton of space!

We have a huge walk in closet (actually a small converted bedroom) that had wallpaper installed by previous owners. To tell you the truth, it didn’t have any decorative impact, given the racks, cupboards, and clothes. It actually looked busy, which I think yours will as well, especially using two patterns. On top of that, there is the cost and tedious work involved.

I disliked it for years and can’t tell you what a great paint color and fun lighting can do. You could also paint shelving and/or add peel and stick paper on the backs and add colorful storage boxes for your small items.
