Definitely a good idea.
I was actually thinking that cabinet would be so pretty recessed into the wall somewhere. Like on an empty kitchen wall or something. The rug is an all timer but I think it’s too browny/ yellowish. What about something lighter? Keep it for another space tho. Can it be used outside? What about wallpapering the walls?
If you keep the cabinet there and want to paint it i think I’d do black. But again it’s so so pretty I’d personally keep as is and showcase it in the kitchen or something

ETA: I like the cabinet as is, but if I was going to paint it, I’d probably do a navy color, like Hale Navy, or a dark brown/gray earthy tone, like Urbane Bronze, or dark gray like Iron Ore ... and add some funky hardware. Etsy has a great selection of unique knobs and such.
