Roxsol, your photo reminded me of this. Our oldest granddaughters were 5 and 4 at the time. The one on the left called her bass a ‘big mouth basset’. We still kid her about it.

Along the trail to Uisge Ban Falls in the Provincial Park, Baddeck, CBI, NS, The tree roots have a strangle hold on that rock.

A King Snake and Copperhead locked in mortal combat. Look closely in the lower left and middle right and you see parts of the Copperhead’s body while being constricted by the King Snake. This picture was taken just a few feet away from our front door. The two snakes stayed like this for about 30 minutes before the King Snake loosened its grip, consumed the Copperhead and the slithered away. That took another 30 minutes or so. We like our King Snakes. The King Snake was almost 3 feet long.

Nicole, it was fun, wasn’t it? Beautiful to see the sun set there. Kinda tricky on that last 100 yards or so, so we left before it got totally dark and then hiked down the rest of the way down in the dark, but as you know the rest isn’t that steep or treacherous, so it was rather fun. Others were around too, so it made it seem like we were at least safe. Must have been cool to have a choir up there.
