Crown moulding with craftsman style trim?

E. Gold

I replaced the trim and doors throughout most of my 1967 split level with a slightly more updated craftsman style a few years ago. Now I’m planning to do the final portion of the house, including the “formal” living and dining rooms. No other rooms in the house have crown. Both currently have a thinner crown moulding that is cracking and needs to come out. My sense is that the damage to the walls underneath will be easier to cover with new molding than to refinish and paint. See photo of the updated style of my house. Any suggestions for crown styles that will complement this? I’m happy to stack multiple pieces to get a desired effect but don’t want anything overly ornate or traditional.
