Sliding glass doors have definitely gone out of favor, so I would not install sliding glass doors. Its hard to clean the tracks, and most are made relatively cheaply, with hardware that doesn't hold up well over time.

I would use a nice quality decorative shower curtain and a waterproof liner, and you can just replace the liner whenever it gets dingy or hard to clean. Also use one of the curved shower curtain rods that give you a little more elbow room in the shower. It really makes it feel more spacious.

Thanks Joseph, but this is for our boys bathroom and we are refreshing on a budget there as it’s not a room that will give us the ROI we want went we sell. I can’t find frameless shower doors for a tub under $500.

I find for kids bath its much easier to bathe small children with a shower curtain vs. a door. We're not planning to sell anytime soon, kids are slightly older, but we were going to do a door in our kids bath, saw the prices and decided to go with a nice rod. If we were going to sell and its a kids bath I think not having the door to deal with while bathing small children is a selling point, as well as being less expensive.

We stuck with shower curtains for both of our kids' bathrooms. I think a shower curtain would be more attractive than glass because glass gets water spots and soap scum on it, and I doubt kids will keep the glass clean. My favorite shower curtains are the ones that look like turkish towels. You could let them choose one that they really like, and as they get older they can change it out for their newest favorite one. It's very economical and can look very nice.
