The Zellige Cle Tiles for kitchen remodel are truly disappointing
Comments (155)@samuelzmom @angharad_musladin Hoping either of you or anyone can offer some advice. I read this thread before I ordered my weathered white zellige tile from cle but I ordered anyway in hopes of achieving my own swoon worthy zellige kitchen to match what I see all over social media. I’m in the middle of my install and now panicked. The color feels totally wrong - my lot seems most white/cool tones. I understood the tile had high color variations but I thought that meant high variation between my 19 boxes - that I would have a mix of white, cream, pink pink, and blues. I don’t know what to do now. Will grout improve this? I’m realizing there aren’t a lot of pre and post grout examples out there. Is this a trust the process type thing? My kitchen feels like a cartoon. Is this normal? LOL My samples are on the countertop for reference. They were much warmer (what I hoped for)....See MoreYour experience with Cloe tile in White - what color is it?
Comments (424)@duffwny - if you really want to see what Cloe tile looks like, I suggest ordering a box from Lowe’s or Amazon (Walmart might also have it - I bought a different color of Cloe tile through Walmart last year because the return policy allowed me to take it back to a brick and mortar Walmart store - even though it was shipped to me directly from Bedrosian). Both have free shipping and free returns. Also, when I purchased it - and placed a bunch of tiles out on my kitchen island, it looked like it had less color variation - but when I took a photo of it with my phone, the variation looked the same as in other photos I’d seen posted on Houzz and on Bedrosian’s IG page. The price of Cloe tile has dramatically increased since I purchased it for my kitchen + bathroom two years ago - I think it was about $6.99 sf! Lowe’s has a 90 day return policy (can return to actual store and save shipping cost): Amazon has free shipping and free returns for 30 days (fyi - I have seen the price fluctuate quite a bit on Amazon): This says ”Free 30 day returns” - but then has 90 days when clicked. When I purcjased, I called and was told I could return to a Walmart store within 90 days....See MoreBath tile for Taj Mahal countertop
Comments (6)that subway tile is too creamy yellow. Taj is a cooler toned stone. more grays and cooler whites. I wouldn't use anything yellow based. These do not really go together. for sure the yellow/peach tile doesn't I personally think the "travertine-look" larger tile is too busy, will compete w/both flooring and the Taj, and quite frankly has had it's day. I'd do something like this,, any of these look great w/taj. the mosaics would work on the shower floor and the niche or accent. or, look at these for larger tiles for either your bathroom floor, or even the shower walls. 16x16 Terrazzo kashmir,, next one is Tilebar, 24x24 porcelain, matte limestone-look. (I love that tile) Tilebar Cavatina is also nice. these come in a 12x24 size too. I'd use this or the one above, over that other tile you picked. (ignore the decorative tile) Do a 3x12 or 4x12 subway tile set in a stacked pattern. Or this tile in a white or soft gray, also in this same layout. are you dead set on the wood look tile in the bathroom? is this a rustic house? is this the look you want w/your tile in the shower and the wood look tile? I would use a solid porcelain tile for the bathroom floor, maybe in a herringbone. a darker, warmer gray would look nice. (or a soft white) Or, this herringbone below would look killer on the floor, or even in the shower. Finland White wood tile at Floor and Decor. that wood look tile looks nice in a bathroom that has more of a country feel. is your bathroom country style? I'd say no based on the style of that traditional vanity. the two styles clash. as do the different larger tiles you've chosen. A Zellige tile would look amazing w/the Taj. it's here on the floor. and doing a busy mosaic pattern inside of a busy larger tile, just looks busy. especially with all of the other busy tile (floors and countertop) you have. Look at Cloe tile. they have a soft gray or a white that would be perfect w/Taj. Diff sizes and shapes too what if you got Taj Majal tiles? You don't have to go to this extent, but they'd look nice on the floor or in the shower taj countertop, lighter, creamier/gray flooring...See MoreCloe Tile and Mapei white/avalanche/frost grout
Comments (59)To add to his helpful post, I teared Mapei Eggshell(Refered to as White in this thread) vs Mapei Avalanche and it was clear to me Eggshell blended better. Though Avalanche did match my sw pure white walls better. Ultimately for the most seemless look I went with the Mapei Eggshell, and here are the results. Really happy with it. It's still drying a little so the color might brighten a tiny bit more...See Morehari p
