Who usually sits in this room? If you have mostly guests, I would change the rocking chairs to narrow unholstered chairs. I don't know too many people who like sitting in rocking chairs. How about ottomans for people to put their feet up?

Do you have a kitchen table? If not that’s what I’d do here. Great space for a big round table. Some chairs. I’d probably do wallpaper or some tile on the walls. Very cool space. Love it!!

Thanks! I do have a kitchen table in the adjacent room. We don’t really use this room at all but would like to start. I have two cats that love to claw and nest so I try to keep upholstery to a minimum, hence the rocking chairs.

To me, the space is calling out for a round table. But if you want to start using it as a sitting area, you probably need some really comfy chairs — maybe one big “chair and a half” sort of thing? That would leave plenty of room for plants and an accent table or two.

Since your aesthetic is more mod, I’d go in that direction. An indoor/outdoor rug, a couple of leather or rattan chairs (add throws for coziness), a small table in between for drinks/etc. And yes, a few plants placed around.

@jinx, thank you for all the inspo! We are freezing rained in.. lol. I love these chair options especially because the fur balls won’t rip them to shreds. Also love the rattan look but wasn’t sure it’d look right in the space given it’s a bit more modern, less boho (although I’d love everything to be boho).

@HU here’s a photo of my dining room which is adjacent to the sunroom, separated by the wall. I’m waiting on some matting for the frames which is why they’re currently blank.

How about a round rug and a big round coffee table/ottoman in the center of the room, and two armchairs of some type. I like rocking chairs - some big wooden ones with cushions? And several big potted plants near the windows.

I think the problem here is that the ceiling is so unique /eye-catching ... and the windows are lovely ... but the floor and furniture are deadly dull. I say bring in a colorful rug and either a round table or chairs with some personality.

You guys rock! I’m on the hunt for some rattan wicker swivel chairs, interesting rug, planters and coffee table. This will be the perfect room to have a morning coffee and really take advantage of the space.

That's such a great space to use, but it needs comfortable seating. All the surfaces are hard so it doesn't look inviting. I'd either use two armchairs with a small round end table between them, or a chaise lounge, for reading. If you have to keep hard seating for the cats, group the rocking chairs together facing the fireplace, with the small end table between them on top of a colorful rug. Put your grouping of plants in front of the window next to the exterior door.

How about swivel/rockers. That way those seated can swivel towards each other for conversation or look outside while sipping your AM coffee.

Chiming in with more ideas. If this were my house, I would want to bring the outside in. I would start with a round rug:

A cozy wicker settee with a chunky blanket:

You can tape off the rug on the floor to see what you think for size and shape. I just think a round rug, not centered in the space, is going to look odd, and you want the rug and chairs closer toward the windows so you have a walkway.

I didn't shop for an exact style but maybe if you can find the right size an octagon rug to duplicate the room

Makes sense @cali. I was thinking through that after reading up on circular rug placement and finding that it should be centered. I don’t think I’d want a table in the middle of the space either because it’d be in the way of the walkway. I’ll do some taping! In the meantime, I moved the chairs closer together and it feels better.
