What I did was use old shards of stained glass, some are even old 70's lamps dissasembled and cut up, and I tumble the glass in a rock tumbler sometimes, to get the sharp edges off,(but this can be done by scraping the glass edges together to get the edges dull) and I use clear silicone adhesive to glue the peices to the shower door, leaving a space for grout. then I grout it just like you would tiles on a backsplash or tub surround. I have even bought stained glass off ebay! And also have smashed up glass plates, bottles to use in this fashion.

Hey everyone, I know this is a really old thread but the photos posted above by lnmc show exactly the shower door that I want but can't find!! All the doors I'm seeing have either a metal support bar or a rail up the wall for support. I love the small brackets and frameless look. If anyone can give me a brand or ideas on where to find something similar, please post!

Thanks for the suggestions but it is the tub itself I am having trouble cleaning. Looks like there is probably no easy way to do it and I have to suck it up and deal with it. Tracks are screwed into the tub and tile surround, therefore are not removable. Someone should invent some kind of discreet plug for the holes left behind. Unfortunately this tub area was newly remodeled when we bought the house 5 years ago and we can't redo it any time soon. The rest of the house was original mid 70's builder grade with old carpet and popcorn throughout, so there have been a lot of more pressing projects.

Hello, Does anyone have experience with frameless sliding glass doors for a bathtub? We have been getting quotes for custom doors (because we need them at a custom height), and while they are all "frameless" some have a small metal track along the tub to guide the door whereas others have just a center u-channel for both doors clear seal/sweeps along the length of the tub for sealing. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with custom tub doors and if minimizing the tracking along the tub is worth the extra cost. Thanks for any feedback/experiences you're willing to share!
