Help! Should we do an accent wall or not in master bath shower?

last modified: 3 years ago

Hello,

We are re-tiling our bath and updating the paint (grey/greige) and fixtures (champagne bronze faucets and lights). We are also enlarging the shower stall a bit by squaring the front and getting a few inches adjacent to the tub.

We have made the following decisions:

1. Floor: Calacatta Gold marble 12x12 honed

2. Shower and tub walls: Calacatta Oro marble 12x24 polished

3. Shower pan: Calacatta Gold marble 2" hex

Other updates: Frameless Shower doors

We are keeping the existing vanity top in Crema Marfil marble which is in a reasonably good shape.

QUESTIONS:

1. Should we do an accent wall or some accent sections on the shower walls?

2. If yes, are marble mosaics recommended in the shower, or are they a pain to keep clean due to the additional grout?

TIA!! :)

Thanks,

NSK

We are kind of envisioning the shower stall to be similar to this:
