I need suggestions for my living room
Comments (9)I can't help with the sofa, but one thing I can suggest . . .I also have young children (7, 4, 2, and one on the way) and our only real TV is in the LR (we have one in our bedroom that never gets used). I hate it in there, but DH doesn't want it in the playroom, so that's that. One of the things I was finally able to do was make the whole wall where the TV is have bookshelves, so the TV is only one part of that main wall. My children have always enjoyed reading anyway, but having such easy access (not to mention how great it is for storage when we get more books, used/new/from the library) makes them read even more. Our small budget only allowed for IKEA bookcases, but so far they've served our purpose well. We used these on either side of the TV: with this stand in the middle: And 2 of these shelves above the TV:...See MoreNeed help with finishing touches on Living Room
Comments (6)Great start Nancy !!!! The rug is NOT to big !! Looks great, def. see some color added tho, what colors do you like is really the question. You can do almost anything. Can you face the couch toward the fp, and flank the 2 chairs with side and perhaps the club chair next to the pf wit a small table? you only know if you try it. One larger brighter piece over the fp will make it appear larger and of course brighter. If you leave the 2 chairs in front of the fp, try a small round table in-between otherwise they look disconnected. Hope this helps a bit, have fun, good luck, best, Debra...See MoreNeed suggestions - make my living room lighter and cozy
Comments (61)a couple more thoughts... a ceiling light fixture will help and bring some interest for sure. have you thought more about one? art absolutely will help and so will pillows. I also think you might want to consider new inserts for pillows if you can. and larger size pillows like 20inx20in, not sure how that translates in com, but large size pillows will help. consider the size of the insert one size up from the size of the cover so it fills out the pillow and makes if more fluffy. if you get feather down inserts i would consider that too. thought I would share a couple pics that show how just a few additional features will make a difference. I like the idea of a couple large pillows on the floor too. I would style the coffee table a bit too...See MoreHelp with final touches to my dining room
Comments (16)I like chandeleirs that light the table , since the table seems quite long I would use a linear fixture with the light lighting the table top. I need to see the chairs you choose Do you actaully have room for that table and chairs in that space . I think the stools will need to go form what I see. As for the neighbors get drapes unless you never want to get the light and view from that window again. Can youpost the size of the space and the size of the table....See Moreashtonchic
