HP offers free shipping, and free return in 21 days if you don't like it. I usually order from Amazon, but HP looks pretty good to me for this printer. The drivers for the printer do not enable all functions to work (did you notice that in the reviewer's comments?). They say the drivers will be updated by end of this month. Do you think that's anything to worry about? The 1007 is out and they are still calling this one "new?" Wow they move fast! Where in Canada...would that be an online vendor? HP product or wannabe? As for the cable, I'll compare HP's price with cablestogo.com. Thanks for your comments.

I have the same model Brother laser that asolo has and love it. A toner cartridge for it costs about half the cost of an hp black ink cartridge at Amazon.com and lasts a LOT longer. Mikie reminds me that I paid $79 for my wife's Canon inkjet and a full set of replacement ink cartridges costs $81. I use her printer for photos and mine is wireless so she can print on it from her computer if she has a lot of black and white printing to do.

I think this might be the new brother color model that replaced my version. They come out with new versions regularly. This one has a bigger touch screen mine is not a touch screen, just an information screen. But this is a great price. It looks almost exactly like mine except for the touch screen, mine has a regular screen there. It uses led light source instead of the laser light source. Whoa, this is spooky--the printer I was asking about in the first place died last week and just yesterday I replaced it....then this pops up! Actually the $100 price turned out to be unrealistic as was noted. I ended up buying this Epson all-in-one on sale at Office Depot; I think I paid $129. It's worked very well until last week when, after only a couple of years, the print function suddenly failed. VERY frustrating, I keep getting paper jams when trying to print but it will still make copies(!). After a week of trying all kinds of google-driven solutions I gave up yesterday and bought another Epson all in one. Very similar model, they both have flat bed print/scan capability, double paper feeds (nice for keeping envelopes in one, paper in the other) and generally work quite well. So I conditionally recommend these printers-I suspect the problem was caused by a power failure that knocked everything offline pretty abruptly last week. If not for that issue, the machine works very well and has everything I need for home office use.
