Others are also offering this at the same price so look for free shipping too. I see the crooks do not include the cable and do not expect that to be discounted. I hate when they do that, charging an exorbitant price for a sliver of wire with a couple of connectors is almost robbery in my book. But you may have a printer cable already - hopefully.

Seems they now have the next model - 1007 - on the market so probably want these out of the way.

In case you have not seen this, here in Canada you can buy the replacement cartirdge for $33. Just so you are aware of what to expect regarding the price.

HP offers free shipping, and free return in 21 days if you don't like it. I usually order from Amazon, but HP looks pretty good to me for this printer.

The drivers for the printer do not enable all functions to work (did you notice that in the reviewer's comments?). They say the drivers will be updated by end of this month. Do you think that's anything to worry about?

The 1007 is out and they are still calling this one "new?" Wow they move fast!

Where in Canada...would that be an online vendor? HP product or wannabe?

I bought a samsung lazer printer. As mentioned no usb cable came with it but I had one. The toner cartridge included was good for a test cartridge,,, but probably 25 pages of print. Replacement cart was best deal $75 from Amatteroffax, but they never shipped it.

I noticed the toner cart on HP site for your printer is priced at $61

The printer cartridges are so expensive. I guess $75 was too good to be true. Hope you aren't out any money, Mikie.

Would $61 be an average price for a cartridge?

I just looked at the PC mag review and they reported the 1006 has "subpar text quality for a laser (although better than most ink jets)." I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to detect subpar text quality.

I mostly do word processing lesson plans for myself with the occasional clip art on worksheets for my students, so I'm thinking this printer might be fine for me.

That's a very good price, but when I tried to order one, it didn't give an opportunity to ship to U.S., just Canada. I've emailed them to ask if they ship to the U.S.

I don't want to order one now, but I just tried it to see what the price would be in American dollars, shipping, etc.
