Wallpaper for a small, kind of cluttered room?
Comments (4)I certainly think you can do a wallpaper in a small room and have it enhance the room rather than make it smaller. That being said. it's advisable to paint the ceiling the same paint as the other three walls to create as spacier look. My only concern would be the window which would need window treatment which would then cut up the wall visually so you'd have woodwork trim, wallpaper, a window treatment and possible shade like item to block out light. Those are the items that will cut in to the paper and create a chopped up look. But, if you can find fabric to match the wallpaper then you're good to go. I've included a site with 84 designer bedrooms and quite a few have wallpaper. Check them out and you might get a feel for one that you could incorporate a similar type in to your room. Whatever you do, I'm sure will be lovely. Keep us posted please on how it's coming along. Good luck. Comments (5)Someone just pointed us in the direction of a chinoiserie digital reproduction - the print looks very nice but we're waiting for the sample to compare. It's about half the price and may wear better with 3 kids and a large dog in the house. Any thoughts? Part of me wants to just do the hand painted silk but the concern is how well it holds up to wear in a busy house. I know I'll be annoyed if the kids smudge it, or if the dog rubs his snotty nose on it....you shoukd see the wall where his food bowl is! There's also the thought that if we move we would be leaving behind a very expensive wall covering vs. a less expensive one. Regardless, I think we were going to shoot for a base color between the wall and the rug so that it stands out more. Since the textures will be different I would think trying to match a color will be almost impossible anyway...See MoreDining room refresh phase 2: wallpaper and mission creep

Comments (16)We are creating a little closed off space in our apartment (no window) that will serve multiple functions: small sofabed for guests, TV/video game console (my boys will spend plenty of time in there themselves and with friends), and also houses a lot of my husband and kids' autograph collection. Boys share a room right now, but it eventually may be a place my older will relocate for his own space. BUT, for now, I want to keep it versatile but at the same time give them a little something (though neither has complained about the pillows/decor as of yet so I think I am safe there- all they want is to have a place to sit and watch TV and play video games)....See Morejzleigh74
