I need help landscaping the front of my house. Removed low lying bushs
Comments (10)I can't tell what the existing brick is doing--do you want to install rocks there? I can't help with that. But on the boxwoods--I thinks it would look nice to continue them under the window to the right. Remember that there are several different species and cultivars of boxwoods. Take a piece from yours with you to see if you can find matching ones. Do you know what the deciduous shrubs under the windows are? Just in case they are worth keeping? If you can continue the boxwoods and put your burning bushes in front of them, then I would want a low evergreen border. I agree on taking out the junipers. Comments (12)You have a big job ahead! You must be excited. It is difficult to pick colors for someone else. Are you keeping your furniture and artwork? Also, I find it hard to see true colors with harsh overhead lighting. Lamplight is much more flattering to people and things. So many people are painting everything gray. It gives a home a very cool feeling. I do not ever recommend gray because I prefer warmth. It appears that you also like warmer colors. I would go with something less yellow. My " go to" color is SW Kilim Beige....See MoreHELP! Need front of house landscaping ideas!
Comments (1)So just some thoughts... I would ditch the clematis for some sort of topiary bush. It would become a statement plant. Look at low bushes that are purple, red, yellow that are slow growing and don’t require a lot of trimming. I wouldn’t really add anymore green. Between the lawn and the house color, you need other colors. Also consider something spiked to add interest. Along the rail, just do a low border plant like liriope. It has white and green leaves and gets a purple bloom in summer. A local nursery can really help. They can even create a plan for you....See MoreHelp! I need paint ideas for my 80s contemporary home
