"If & how you use stone is up to you." While one can legally do as they please with their property, I think that is misleading because there are ways to use stone or faux stone that look cheap and tacky, and other ways that look classy and luxurious. A person inexperienced with using stone may not have a clue about the differences. Since you have reddish/orangey/brownish looking flatwork already, you would not want to use stone & colors that are in the same vein. It could not only be a bad clash, but too much of same/similar. I'd avoid anything reddish/orange/brown/yellow/beige & the like. Go with something in the grey/taupe range. I'd suggest medium body color with white trim. Look at the Google images for house with particular colors and with stone. it will move you forward much more than talk alone.

The Abyss color that was recommended for the foundation and the wall, the darker color, is intended to add texture, as opposed to lengthening the house. Since no one will see the foundation from the street except for on the side of the house, which is a very small section, BUT, where the wall is, the lengthening part doesn't really matter to me. So it's a decision of same ol' same ol', or maybe adding a little spice. As for the gutter question, for anyone reading this that read my entire post, I've decided to paint them the same color as what's behind them, which will be the Hale Navy.

I don't have experience with exterior stains but a sage green paint would look good. I like your stacked stone and could see it as column bases around the porch and deck posts. Or you could use river rocks to match those in the landscape. Not sure I like the steel in the middle of the chimney or the mantle overthe top of the TV. They break the lines of that soaring fireplace and the mantle will be too high to set things on. If solid rock to ceiling is not an option, rock to mantle then wallboard with timber trim to ceiling. Solid rock would be good for passive solar so you might get a tax break for that. Once you rebuild deck consider sun sails instead of roofing which could block those windows year round. That would cut your winter heat gain and ruin your views. Use lower deck in the heat of the day and upper one for evenings. Gorgeous setting.

Thank you @houssaon. We do love this house and have worked on restoring/renovating the interior and now we're moving to the exterior. The landscaping and new front entry steps are the next big project to begin this summer and we're very excited to have it feel more cohesive and appropriate for the house and lot. We have thought about adding a sidelight, but the front door is actually original to the house and has such amazing detailing. It's in great shape and we're hoping to keep it if we can. We'll paint it and see if we want a door with a sidelight - I love the one you posted. Thank you!
