Need Major help picking exterior house colors
Comments (8)Did you decide? We're also building and think we've decided on Evening Blue, a gray stone skirt, black shutters, grayish trim, gray or black roof...it is so hard to decide though!!! Still debating, ours is a one story house. If you have any pictures I'd love to see them, or if you found any others along the way of the "blues". I was looking for something more like a charcoal gray, to us the evening blue looks gray, at least on the sample! We don't want it to look too blue, but we also don't want to look too much like the neighbour's house which is lighter gray stone with a charcoal / black roof....See MoreExterior paint help on Craftsman mountain house with Cedar shakes
Comments (15)So we did some more test painting and decided on the muted gray/blue for the main sections, similar to what gracie linked. We tried 2 different trim colors and are feeling like the dark gray blends in too much with the blue. The lighter gray seems to have more contrast. What does everyone think? Also, what would you recommend to paint the lower concrete section of the house. The lighter gray trim color if we pick that? Or would you possibly paint it a darker gray like the trim we weren't digging? Comments (5)So your architect didn't have any suggestions on cladding colours? Here are two GTA builds in a similar style, sans the traditional hip roof. The above Toronto area build some might say illustrates the confusion of too many materials (4) on one facade. Your facade has the same number--brick, stone, vertical wood siding and aluminum composite panels. For that reason, I would keep them in the same colour range to avoid the jigsaw look. (Unless that's what you like.)...See MoreNo Floor! Mountain home needs help.
Comments (16)I agree with thinkdesignlive that large, charcoal porcelain tile would look great against the wood and white walls. The radiant heat would prevent the tile floor from being cold. Personally, I prefer the simpler tile that thinkdesignlive posted first and would run it everywhere. Daltile's Unity Nero P406 24" x 24" unpolished porcelain tile might be one option to consider. -- amateur...See MoreSpenard Builders Supply - Eagle River
