Teal Media Console - opinions?
Comments (20)Thanks everyone! Here is a pic from the other side (this one isn’t a pro pic just my iPhone and not staged! ;-) ) I’m planning to replace the coffee table with a larger balustrade style one in a dark finish. I think we need something a bit larger there. I’m open to adding teal accents through the room but I agree with some of the concern about that particular unit not being the right shade. I also agree we need some color, but I’m probably not going to be able to convince my husband on the navy. We also considered another option in a wood finish but couldn’t make a decision on that one either. My ideal is the French casement console from Restoration Hardware but alas $$$. Considering trying to build something at this point......See MoreNeed help finding a rustic wooden media console for TV Alcove
Comments (27)groveraxle, I was more concerned personally about actual size of the sideboard in terms of how large it is on its own, and then we are moving it up into an alcove... Maybe I'm making myself paranoid about this, but the piece is 54"W x 17¾"D x 29½"H. Good point about the distance between the screen and console. We can always move the TV screen up as it's on an arm. Here is a pic of the 4 panel sideboard. This one is much wider than the 3 panel we photoshopped in, however the height is the same - 29 1/2"....See MoreHelp with Media Wall in Living Rm (new house build)
Comments (15)We have klipsch audio for our movie room, we have towers flanking the tv and a large subwoofer along w other speakers (im no professiona lol) The sound, if youre into that, is ridiculous. We also have surround sound speakers built into the ceiling although im not sure if they are used during movies. In our greatroom, we also have surround sound built discreetily into the ceiling, and they have great sound. I guess it depends on if you want speakers showing, which i did not, but the media room is my husbands domain. For a sleek, customizable and very functional media console, id suggest BESTA from ikea. Google besta media consoles and you will get the idea. You can mount them on the wall which makes them look more contemporary and the illusion of not taking up a lot of floor space....See MoreHelp me select a media console and side table! Comments (9)Fun! It looks like the rug helps to neutralize the wood in your LR a bit. Out of the ones you posted, I like the darkest one the best. UO has a couple of pieces that might work for you too. This one looks like it would coordinate with your coffee table. White would coordinate with all your pieces, but this one has open storage--not sure if you're ok with open. Do you need side tables on each end? I could see a side table on one end and a floor lamp on the other. Add a plant in your planter, and it will be a really nice space! Here's a stone side table. How high is your sofa arm? You'll want the table to be about that height so it's an easy reach. Every room needs a touch of black. Here's one with good texture and you can store things inside it....See MoreKelly Bott
