BM Capitol White was on my short list - went with Balboa Mist and have been questioning myself ever since :)

Our space makes all colors look very warm, so it’s pretty beige on our walls, but tbh I’m just getting tired of the greige trend. Every flip, every staged home in our area seems to be some flavor of greige! I think a creamy off white would have aged better. But the grass is always greener, I’m sure I would have had my doubts about Capitol White as well had we gone that route.

I also agree that I think these colours may be off trend soon, but I am having a hard time finding the right white. They all look TOO white to me

@judyG designs I never thought about a shelf... thats an interesting idea that I think would work... just curious, why do you say a shelf rather than hanging them?

Have you looked at Pale Oak? I have found it works with everything! Dark wood, light wood, gray, off white...
What didn’t you like about the pictures in a grid? If you center them, you can vary how much space is between them. I think this will make better use of the space vs a straight line.

The square made it seem like the art was just randomly placed, since the wall is so large and the couch only comes out so far, so there’s a lot of dead space. Although I suppose there is a lot of dead space with the straight line as well... I don’t know why I am finding this so hard!
I have looked closely at pale oak, but in this room it seems to look like a cool off white with a tinge of grey in it, when I would rather have a colour with a bit more creaminess to it maybe?

The nice thing about the grid is you can vary the spacing, both vertically, horizontally and in between. It is very hard to tell from a picture and even in person, how a paint color will look unless you test it on all walls and in every light. Make sure you does this before you commit.

This is the “tone” of white I am after, but I know it’s not that easy to match up... all of the influencers on Instagram use sherwin Williams Alabaster, and while it looks great in the photos they post online, it does absolutely nothing for my space (from the paint chit). It looks so sterile!

What about something like Navajo White? Too light?

I think you need to be careful with not getting an off white that’s too yellow. You’re sofa is gray and your chair is blue- cooler colors. You have orange accents but they are not the dominant color. Have you looked at Navajo White?

Navajo white appears a bit too yellow to me. I arranged the art in a grid. Thoughts? I also added more photos of the main floor to get a better idea of the space. I am now thinking Edgecomb gray may be too heavy? And am leaning towards plaster of Paris or dove wing. Thoughts?

I like plaster of Paris better. Think the grid will work but would center them between the edge of the TV and the back edge of the sofa as that where your eyes will naturally draw boundaries. Also gives you a little more space from the cabinet.

Navajo White goes too yellow especially with your gray sofa and blue/green chair. You have a lot going on in this space. What direction does the front windows face? Even though you seem to have great windows, I see a wide exterior overhang and these features will affect interior color. Since you will have to prime the existing color, why not do one big area now and see what direction that takes you.

The room faces south, and the south wall is nearly floor to ceiling windows. We are prepping the walls this weekend so I will be priming soon.
