lol

Yeah, that have to be hurting this year with so many people shopping online. I hadn't even thought about it. I wasn't aware I could give online, but I will check it out. SA is a great organization, and most of the money actually goes toward helping people, not to overpaid CEO's.

At this point I don’t think there’s any lack of people going to grocery stores, which at least here is where the bell ringers tend to hang out. But what’s struck me is how much easier it is to walk by them with a mask on. I rarely carry cash but try to around the holidays so that I can drop in a few bucks, but when I don’t it doesn’t seem as uncomfortable behind that mask. Wonder if it’s affecting donations.

Very worth sharing and reminding.

I just dropped a few bucks in the bucket yesterday.

An article in the paper yesterday mentioned that their donations thus far are less than half what they need to just meet the demand for their Christmas boxes. They meet so many other needs in the community too and they are running short of funds for those as well.

There aren't any people manning the stations this year. There are cardboard cut-outs asking for people to tap their card. Donations are down a lot this year, with people needing these kinds of services (food bank etc) up.

My g/f has a frozen turkey she won't be using so she asked me to find a home for it. A charitable group who gets donations to give to the homeless and needy families took it and they were beyond thrilled. They'll be cooking up meals with it.

Thanks for the nudge. Sorted.
