Every year our local restaurant supply store has a draw for the 12 Days of Christmas.

Today I won a cheese/chacreutrie board. (spelling is wrong but it won't correct). This thing is huuuge!

Last year I won a set of casserole dishes. I've won various things over the years.

Thanks for reposting another picture Edward. Even though yours is a lighter color, it still has some ruffles and I think it's a pretty daylily, don't you? 3 years ago it was said on this forum that it was one of the truest pinks available. I sure hope it is. I will kick myself if it's not. I couldn't out wait the price coming down to a reasonable level and bought one this year.

So the cat's outta the bag. Here's what happened. I thought, shucks, I can make more of these, and you all were so sweet and enthusiastic... I'll just have one main winner and make 8x10s for everyone else who entered. But the first batch turned out awful. The colors were too vivid. So I had to reprint them using a different program and I've gotta say, it takes quite a while to print these things. Anyway, when I was looking for something else, I ran across another print of the same thing, even bigger than the extra I had. So I made that the grand prize, which Shaun won, and then drew again. Annie (hope I'm not telling tales out of school) won the second prize but since she really liked another print more than that one, I decided to make her the one she wanted. Third place went to Chase, who actually got the original extra print. I've already told her to keep her eyes peeled for it. So everyone got something and I hope you all enjoy your prints. A big shout out to AnnT, who so graciously supplied me with ALL of your addresses. I wouldn't be so presumptuous, but Ann, if you wanted a print of something, I would be more than happy to send you one.

Oh man lucky you...that's worth a flippin' fortune! I'd make an antipasto plate to go with it, perfect for a buffet and fits your appetizer theme perfectly! Roasted red peppers, several different olives, some nice cheeses, artichoke hearts, marinated mozzarella, baguette slices. I'd also wrap thin slices around melon and asparagus ( as mentioned by Annie) SharonCB has a recipe for a Russian salad that is famous in Spain as a tapas...that would be good. A Spanish tortilla would be good too. Hope Sharon sees this!

The workers cherry picked among my things (with permission), and then Habitat chose what they wanted. They did like my cabinets, and they told me the same thing someone above said: They only want cabinets with backs that are stable (I assume for storage, so they can be stacked), and only took the uppers because they went with the lowers. They did take the perfect condition blinds and hood, but nothing else. I was able to find homes for everything in the end, except the oven which doesn't work quite right and looks bad too. That went to recycling. If you have a safe way to do it, you can try Freecycle for anything that the thrift stores won't take. Just do it away from your house (big box parking lot is good) because people go through the listings looking for job sites to rob. OTOH, the person who meets you in the parking lot is grateful to get something usable for free. Some places also have free markets where everybody just brings their stuff and take home what they need from other people's stuff. Awhile back, when I redid some bathroom fixtures (some very weird ones in perfect shape came with the house), one of the plumber's helpers knew a place where they could use them (I think it was a charity in Mexico). Yeah, you can get a donation form for your taxes from Habitat or other thrift stores, but you can always find someone who can use stuff that's in decent condition if you just keep asking who wants it.

Wow, Jasdip, nice prize.

I'm one of those people who just shouldn't ever gamble. If there are 100 chances in a hat and 99 of them are mine, the other one would be chosen!

I did win a pie server once from Libby's for a pumpkin recipe I submitted and got a cookbook from Taste of Home for my salsa recipe. I also got $50 off my electric bill for entering my recipe for papardelle with Italian sausage and mushrooms, but I don't just win things without cooking, LOL.

Beautiful board. I remember you won the casseroles last year.

I don't win much but will always enter especially if for charity. I did get three not ordered good size packages of mushrooms in one of my recent Misfits boxes....I call that a win.

That's really a beautiful board. The first time you use it, we want to see what you've done....

I fail at creativity. I tried semi-copying from a couple of these for a party one year and couldn't make them as pretty. The ingredients were expensive too ;0)

I'm not sure I'll keep it :-(

Not sure what to fill it with, it's huge and I don't entertain. Also, I have no place to store it! LOL

Jasdip, those Emile Henry baking dishes are great. Several years ago I found great deals on some at Tuesday Morning. I bought five in various sizes and really enjoy having them.

Jasdip - you remind me of my friend from work - she wins so much! She just recently won a KitchenAid stand mixer from a radio contest. The only things that I have ever won were a book and a 1.00 bill in about 1967 from a kid's newspaper contest and a set of felt tip markers (that the whole class used) at the end of a graphic design program that I took (pre-computer!) I'm convinced that some people just have a lucky gene and I am not one of them! Good for you. Maybe you could sell your prize on Marketplace or somesuch.
