Looks Like I'll Be having Company This Winter
Comments (6)Now that's great! Your plants look fantastic too! I have bookoos of leaf miners so the leaves that come on during the leaf miner's peak period all look rough, and then the whiteflies during the summer poop all over the leaves and they turn dark with mold that likes the sweet whitefly poop. Isn't life great! I'm trying a new approach on the leaf miners this year. They really do a lot of damage to new growth on my newly planted trees and those are the very trees that need to get the most benefit of the few leaves they have. Beginning earlier this week, I'm spraying Spinosad on the young leaves of plants that are too young to bloom. Spinosad kills honeybees so I'm not treating my more mature plants. The mature trees have lots of leaves anyway so it's the young ones I want to give an edge....See MoreDebating shingles vaccine, not vaccines, just the timing on this one!
Comments (57)The health dept. told me there were two pharmacies offering Shingrix in my community, CVS and one other regional chain one. My doctor is on haitus all month and I'm still debating on jumping ship. Either way, it will be at least a month before I can get any services from a personal physician. I still haven't heard back from my insurance company about coverage of the Shingrix, but I'll extrapolate from hubs experience with Aetna supplemental and project that it will be expensive for the vaccine and minimal if any coverage by my insurance company. I don't think my coverage will be better than his. But I have to find out for sure before I can maybe pursue some special program through our health department. But I'll bet that too will be minimal support. They need our money and have us over a barrel, so there you have it....See MoreAre you eliglble to get the Covid vaccine now? If so, have you?
Comments (95)Happy to say got our 2nd Pfizer doses today. As i have said before in other threads, I felt like it was a scavenger hunt. I followed every rumor, signed up every where I could. When it seemed that I really got us appointments I was still thinking it wasn't going to be. The only good thing i can say is that at least for us, the dispensing was so incredibly well run and orderly. We had 12:15 appointment , got there about 5 minutes ahead, waited maybe 5 minutes and got our shots. There were no long lines, but a constant steady light flow. It seems they have it together. They don't really examine what time your appointment is but just confirm that you are scheduled for the day. That way it flows nicely. So , so far only a little soreness on my arm as I had last time. Hopefully that will be it. YAY....See MoreQuestion for those that had Pfizer vax
Comments (57)I had mine yesterday afternoon - more arm soreness than the first go round. I did wake up about 5am today with chills and feeling like I could stay in bed all day. Took some acetaminophen and ibuprofen and feeling a bit better. I did still have a low grade fever two hours after the acetaminophen. I thought this might be like Shingrix and so far that is the case. ETA: I felt tired and a bit chilled and achy the day after my jab and had a low grade fever. Second day now and I am completely back to normal. I thought ibuprofen relieved symptoms better than acetaminophen....See Moresocks
