Sherwin Williams vs. Ben. Moore vs. Behr
Comments (118)Out of the choices Above I'd say BM is your best bet. Behr products are too watered down and their white is more of a gray so that effects the way the colors comes out when tinted. Stay away from SW they are a bit better than behr but they over price for the amount of TITO in their paint as well. BM offers a beautiful color selection and has an exellent product. HOWEVER I would love to put Dunn Edwards in the running here. We have an amazing selection of nearly 2,000 colors (not mention custom color mathces we can do), a superior paint product and a FREE Professional Color Advisor service (that's me) . Plus we have a ton of "kill test" listed on our website and in our store comparing each of our products to the competition. (: but like I said BM is a nice choice!...See MoreSherwin Williams kilim beige or Benjamin Moore Manchester tan?
Comments (13)I would get samples. Sometimes people have reported Kilim to have band aid look. Kilim has a slight green undertone compared to my BM Shaker Beige walls (they have a red undertone). If you start comparing paint chips with other chips you'll be able to see undertones. I have another room painted Manchester Tan and it's a very nice color. A little lighter than Kilim and has a subtle green undertone, but I honestly had a hard time even seeing it until I tried to determine what it was. If you're unsure, and looking to stay away from fleshy colors, I'd pick Manchester for sure. It is slightly putty looking and a little cooler, but no flesh tones. I can take photos later if you'd like. Photos of Manchester Tan from Adventures in decorating blog look pretty accurate to real life on my monitor. Comments (20)Clients have been known to accuse the painter of using the wrong paint because the color they see on the wall does not match what they expected to see. It is much more likely to be "wrong" because they had not selected from a real paint sample and failed to recognize the effect that other colors in the space and the lighting would have on the appearance of the space. Take away the reference framework and then see how many people can identify the choices. I would love to see a true blind test of asking knowledgeable customers to identify a series of painted samples by providing color names and paint companies. Without any real evidence, I can not be convinced that people can identify results when they do not see the materials being used. I agree that the technology has permitted many uninformed people to masquerade as color experts because their gadgets show them the info. It is a bit like a student who can't pass a math test without a calculator because they don't understand the subject matter but do know the sequence of buttons to press. It takes more than technology to make a true expert....See MoreKelly Moore/Sherwin Williams equivalent to Benjamin Moore's White Dove
