Please post pics of Manchester Tan BMoore or any neutral color!
Comments (10)All paint colors have an undertone, even the so called neutral ones. Manchester Tan has a slight green undertone, but it's so subtle it's a good go to color. I'm not a color expert by any means, but I've struggled with neutrals and undertones. The undertones of what you pick should relate to your furniture, flooring, etc. I'd start with figuring out what the undertone of your cream furniture is. Are the floors wood? Carpet? If you do a google search for Manchester Tan, you'll see a lot of photos. I do have this in a bedroom in my house and feel it's lovely and a safe option. I actually recommend you check out Maria Killam's website. (I'm not affiliated.) I found it to be very helpful in piecing together what I knew didn't look right, but didn't know why. Here is a link that might be useful: Maria's blog....See MoreManchester Tan or Halo? Can you share pictures if you have any?
Comments (25)aurora - I think with all your windows, the Manchester Tan would work in your room. I agree with above poster to paint a big area of the wall in your room. peony - sorry it didn't work for you, but thank you for sharing your experience. Good to know it might not work in a room with less natural light. I too noticed the green undertone when I had samples on the wall. In fact, at first I thought it would be too close to the green on my kitchen walls (BM Baby Turtle). Kitchen and family room are very open to each other. But, once the room was painted, I couldn't see any green undertones, even though it's right next to green....See MorePaint gurus....Manchester Tan paint fail:(
Comments (47)I was just going to add I'm glad your DH went and bought the actual BM Manchester Tan. I too have learned the hard way not to attempt to match BM paint colors with other brands. It's not that other brands don't have good paint, its the way BM colors are made. You can probably match just about any other paint brand color with a BM paint, but it really is not a good idea to take a BM paint color and match to a different brand. My BM Elmira White match with a SW paint turned out with ugly pink undertones which I didn't catch until everything had been painted and then it couldn't be undone. I've had to live with it for years thinking it was just not the right paint color only to get the actual BM paint and find that no, it was the SW match. The real BM color is beautiful and I will now be repainting with it unless I choose another color. It's frustrating because most painters work with SW paint because it is easy to find. But I love BM and will just have to pay up for it....See MorePaint color to coordinate with Grappa Benjamin Moore
Comments (4)Sorry about that. Attached are pictures of most of the first level. The dining room is sealed as that is one of the rooms were where the fire was. I am emulating some of the colors I liked of Sherwin Williams, but with Benjamin Moore colors. There is one color that I could not emulate. Sherwin Williams Sawdust. I love the color - it is an accent wall in family room (fireplace wall) and also in the foyer and I plan on using it again in the same places. I have included floor plan. Only big change is we added a sunroom out from the kitchen. The sunroom is currently painted Sherwin Williams Armagnac. When I picked these colors it took 3 years to pick them (with the help of a decorator). Due to the restoration from the fire I do not have that much time to pick colors. We will be painting the entire house (first and second floor). I plan on doing Sherwin Williams Dried Thyme on an accent wall in the master bedroom and figured the remainder of second floor would be selected when I figure out the first floor. Color of two story foyer will flow up stairs and into the 2nd floor hallway. Biggest challenge is the neutral color that needs to coordinate with BM Grappa and SW Sawdust. I do not want it to look yellow as SW blonde and restrained gold does) I am not set on Grappa, I just would like a deep dark purple for the kitchen....See Morelyfia
