the rabbit hole of engineered wood floors

I'm replacing the floors in an older condo and am trying to keep the budget under control and keep to the authentic look of a 1940-1950 building (no LVP, no laminate). The floors are currently carpet over concrete and I would like to replace them with engineered hardwood. To add to my decision woes is the pandemic which means I can't go in person to every flooring store in the world. After much searching on-line I've found Builder's Pride Engineered 9/16" x 7-1/2" Harbor Brazilian Oak Engineered Hardwood Flooring at Lumber Liquidators (I know, I know). In the specs it says it has a "lumber core" and a 3 mm veneer. I want to confirm that "lumber core" isn't some code for MDF or 'core made from wood shavings' or something and that is actually a solid good core. I know that the 3 mm is a good veneer for the price ($4.49 sq/ft) so I keep thinking that something else is where they have cut corners. Can anyone help me out of this flooring rabbit hole?
