Review of Electrolux ICON 30" Double Oven Pro Series E30EW85G
Comments (20)Both Wolf and Electrolux have issues with the blue porcelain. And its a really big oops on the Wolf. Electrolux seems to have resolved their issues with blue porcelain as there are not any complaints from recent ovens. Wolf still has ongoing issues, but the repair will now be easier with the bottom as a separate piece. Search blue porcelain in this forum to read about this. Looking at cubic feet or even the depth and width of the oven can be misleading. In looking at oven size, measure the rack to see what the usable space would be and then see how your pans will fit. Look at how the convection fan takes up space in the oven. Some have the fan sticking out into the oven cavity, which might allow for a handle of a pan to hang over a rack edge. Others place a wall across the front of the fan so they can say the back of the oven is flat. Some examples Wolf Electrolux The new Wolf ovens seem to be blue. Different fans! Wolf M series illustration Wolf M series photo Also look at where the racks are and how they can be used. On Elux, at least mine, the rolling rack cannot be put on the lowest position. The regular rack can be placed there. The best feature of the Wolf is the dual fans/elements. I think that is more significant in the 36 inch width though. Comments (69)We have a rainy day here so I've been playing....beginning to think maybe less IS more: I moved the other two prints and put them on the walls beside the FP. I am warming up to this now; maybe I was used to having four prints, and now that they are still in the room, it maintains the continuity I was used to. And......back to the chairs; a pair of these PB chairs has been hiding in the recesses of our CL: Pottery Barn Calais chair in leather They are almost brand new so not exactly a fire sale price; they are asking $500 for the pair. I think that's a little high, but assuming the price was right, do you think they would finish things off well? Or should I leave well enough alone? I'd purchase them only if they are more comfortable than what I have, and I won't know that until I see them. I can't test the link until I post, but in case it doesn't show the right one, the CL chairs are brown leather with espresso stain legs. I still really like the sconces but wonder if this is just as nice in some ways. I am now looking at my FP and wondering if the sconces would look good on either side of my mirror! But, no worries, that will have to wait for another day, lol!...See MoreNeed advise on house plans
Comments (32)The thing about open plans, is if someone really likes the open concept, they usually want a sink on the island, whether it's the clean-up sink, or the prep sink, because they want to face the kids, or the guests sitting at the island, or face the action in the living areas. Does the DW go under the drainboard of the sink? Where would you store dishes, if the clean-up sink is on the perimeter? If there is space for the DW on the perimeter, as NJ Mom drew the layout, then consider a prep sink on the island. More time is spent prepping than cooking and doing dishes. Helpers can also use the second sink, when you entertain. I like the idea of two sinks for that reason--you can be prepping or cooking, and a helper can be loading or unloading the DW, or gathering dishes to set the table, but that works better if the zones don't cross. In the layout I posted above, the zones are separate. All the prep/cooking is on one side of the kitchen, and DW/dish storage is on the other side. If the DW is on the perimeter pantry wall, then the cook will need to pass through the clean-up zone to get to the fridge. I wouldn't want the fridge in the pantry, but if you do, singhc, then perishables could be gathered at the beginning of prep and taken to the sink on the island. I'd probably forget the butter, or decide I had space in the skillet for another carrot, so I'd be stuck traipsing back and forth....See MoreStumped on what to do with our TV wall
Comments (12)I'd prob paint the wall a darker accent color (you said blue, so maybe Hale Navy?) this just gives you an idea of a console w/accent wall. more boho I'd wall mount the tv, making sure to drop the cords down in the wall and out the bottom. Get a cool looking media console. If you like vintage, look for a MCM walnut piece I did a Brasilia for mine (except I did art over it), but anything like this would look great on your wall all of these show diff ways to hang art (this one is too low, but it's an option. look at Ikea.) more modern, a floating console You could also do something like this w/floating shelves. (not inset tho)...See Moresub2014
