Comments (6)We always open 1 gift on Christmas Eve....a new pair of pajamas...in fact the boxes are marked Pajamas so we know which package to open. Another tradition we have is we fix a Low Country Boil with shrimp, red potatoes and corn on the cob. After dinner we go riding around to see the Christmas lights. Get back read the story of Jesus' birth from the Bible. Sing Christmas carols (only time Molly and I get to sing) open our new pajamas and go to bed..Right before Tony goes to bed he puts our ham on to cook(really just warm up) So when we get up EARLY Christmas morning the smell of the ham fills the house...YUMMY!! After we have Santa and open the presents I cook a pan of biscuits and we have ham & biscuits for breakfast then I really don't cook the rest of the day.. That is what we do for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day...btw we usually stay in new pajamas all day and just laze around.....See MoreTalk about cooking-related gift ideas?
Comments (25)Some of the best cooking gifts I've gotten have been coffee table cookbooks. The kind with art book quality paper and photography, but really good recipes for out of the ordinary things as well. One was Plenty by Ottolenghi and whatshisname. Another is Aromas of Aleppo by Poopa Dweck, a lovely lady with a name that doesn't transliterate well in American. :) I also received a Breville Multicooker as a gift. It took me half a year to even figure out where to start with it because I so didn't need it, but I'm very fond of it now. It's like an Instant Pot. A thought that counts gift was the meat slicer that was meant for meats at a sandwich counter, was not up to slicing cheese (per instructions), was huge, too heavy for me who thinks nothing of lifting the KA mixer, and dangerous to clean without protective gear. Really thoughtful, but it went back to the store. Some TV chef had pooh-poohed home models, so the giver just went light industrial rather than choosing something else. ;)...See MoreLet's talk stocking stuffers
Comments (26)I love these card sets-- I used to get them at B&N but my local store doesn't sell them anymore. I went on a hunt and found them at this online store-- FlorentineShop This is the style I use as my "signature" but they have so many styles to choose from! They're perfect for short notes to go with a gift, to add to a mailing package or whatever calls for a short note (I hate writing long notes longhand so I use them a lot!). I would be thrilled to get them wrapped as a gift or in a stocking! This may not be a design you love but they have many to choose from (many with an Italian focus) and also memo pads, sketch books, journals, etc. They also have wrapping paper in many of their designs. I just love this one-- but of course, they have holiday designs also,...See MoreLet’s talk diet(s)
Comments (68)There are so many false ideas promoted in the posting by Springroz. I have pursued physical fitness for 4 decades. I won't even attempt to link all the articles that de-bunk the loss of femininity due to exercise and weight lifting. There are too many to list. Just do a Google search on Testosterone and women. We have it and we need it and we can't do without it. As far as the idea of reducing movement to increase weight loss. I can't let this pass without citing at least one link. Again please do your research. There isn't ANYTHING worse for the human body than reduced movement and exercise. Nothing. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3567319/. https://www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/downloads/growing_stronger.pdf...See MoreFeathers11
