Color Ideas for Open Concept Living Room/Kitchen/Dining

My husband and I are purchasing a new home with an open concept main level. The walls are painted a light gray, granite is white with gray and black specks, and cupboards are a dark brown. The kitchen table is also dark wood. I would prefer not to paint, but wondered what color schemes you might recommend and suggestions to bring colors into the space? I'm thinking rugs, seat cushions, decor, etc.

its large enough you can bring in botanical patterns or geometric patterned textiles. Color of your own choosing. The far wall w fireplace and clock in the living room would be nicer if lighter. You could take the same hue just lighter. It looks a little dreary/nearly gray which is going to be yesterday's aesthetic if not already...... then almost any color scheme would be nice or neutrals for that matter. More I look at it...ceiling is not high..I'd lighten that wall...others walls if you feel like it , and work w neutrals. Just a pop of blue for accents...or green....enjoy your new home!!!!

I have a similar color scheme with my fixed items and went with navys and olive/botanical look.

I will look to see if I have a floor plan, but if not, how would i go about creating one for you. I know I sound like an idiot but obviously I am clueless as to this kind of stuff and wish my husband would just let me hire a decorator lol! However, he just now gave me another big fat NO to hiring one lol! So needless to say, I am going to have to learn how to do this on my own and asking for help, however annoying I may be, is the only thing I know to do! So I apologize in advance for my ignorance! I will look for the floor plan! Thanks for responding!

Its hard to tell the depth/distance, especially from the wall the dog food is to the back of the sofa. I also feel like you could afford to back up the sofa bit more. I think you could have the best of both worlds in the nook area with bench under the left window and a small table with chairs, you might be able to get a chair and an end table next to the door on the right.
