I need help with paint .. paint colors and painting
Comments (4)I need help with a paint color. Can anyone recommend a green color that you accent with? It is mostly used in country or cottage decor. Country and I'd think of a sage green, like Sherwin Williams Svelte Sage or Clary Sage. Cottage and Apple Greens seem to fit. For a spunky apple green I like SW's Lime Rickey. Very fun. A bit *calmer* in the apple green category would be Great Green and Baize Green also Ryegrass and Shagreen. Also I want to paint my countertops. They are currently dk blue formica. Ugh! If you want to paint them, then you want to paint them. But... there are worse things to make work in a room than dark blue counter tops. Especially if you partner it with a fresh green wall color. The dark blue is not neutral, true, and changing out decor with the seasons could be challenging, but wouldn't think impossible. Especially if you thread red thru the seasonal decorations and end up using a green on the walls - you'd have a classic RGB color scheme, red, green, blue....See MoreI need more GREEN paint help!
Comments (42)Does the wall have to be green? The reason I'm asking is a beautiful color combo for vintage is a very pale yellow and the red on your trim. Since you already have a yellowish wall you probably haven't considered another shade of yellow. Also, it seems you're wanting to go lighter, right? I see green as being dark, no matter the shade. And also depressing for some reason which I can't figure out! But then again, everyone knows I'm not a green fan (only on walls unless it's a pastel green) so take what I say with a grain of salt. lol Although pale yellow-cream with dark red is beautiful together, and very vintage!...See MoreChalk paint overload, but I need more. Comments (10)The craigslist here isn't that great. Neither is the newspaper classifieds that is popular. I don't know why, maybe people are just frugal here and don't redecorate. I don't know. I can stop by the thrift store more often, but it's mostly crap. It's too bad. The city I moved from had a great CL. It's where I got my vintage dining set, both kids bedroom sets (my son has an awesome 50's western wagon wheel bed set) other accent furniture. The thing is that I don't want a super primitive look. Or too much chalk paint. I'm going for more of an English country style with some colonial style stuff too. I think I could do something with them....See MoreNeed help with paint color. Struggling to load more photos!
