Are the walls of your kitchen peach (ie. section of wall next to the wood cabinet appears peach)? Can you please provide a shot of the entire kitchen, walls, cabinet uppers and bottoms as well as counter please and fixtures? I am trying to situate where the subway tile backsplash is in your kitchen. A full pic. will help. Which colour is true to the sample that is to the right of Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter? It looks different in the first and second pictures. Thanks.

because of the floor tiles (any chance of changing those down the road?) and that dark grout, it's throwing a wrench into the mix. I can see why you want to pick something warmer next to those tiles, however, your River White granite and backsplash lean very cool gray.

I'd rather you go all white on the cabs, and then pick your warmer color for the walls.

now, if you had a very neutral, natural white oak flooring, You could do your two tone. But right now that tile is working against you.

Although, these may work. you'll have to get samples, not paint chips. only way to know for sure

Light pewter or Nimbus could work for the bottoms, works w/the tile and the granite. get a sample and try it on a door (prime it first)

you can see how they compare to revere pewter. I did light pewter in my own kitchen and it looks great w/gray/white

no island? just lowers? you could do a darker color. Black Fox, Iron Ore,,etc. This way you're assured of a good match for both. or, try the Nimbus first.

S W Night Owl for the lower cabinets. Kind of a simple reason, but it matches the grout and isn’t trying to buddy up to the other pale tones.

Agree^. White for kitchen cabinets. Your counters and backsplash are cool tones and your floor is warm. I'd go with a darker (than Agreeable) neutral gray for wall color.

I will try another thank you all sad to say grout is dark because it’s dirt and stained sad to match for that reason but I guess it’s a reality. I’m getting all white with medium gray on walls or darker lowers? From you all Would white ceiling be okay? And snowbound or white dove? My painter prefers SW. okay to do dark lowers gray walls and white ceiling or all gray? All white I don’t prefer but I do want it to look good. I try again to post picture. Walls are called soft sand now.

I'd prob do snowbound.

The others can be color matched. not exact, but close enough.

ALWAYS have the painter do a sample on one or two of doors before committing fully to a color (s)

they are painting end of the month. They are spraying the cabinets at their shop and explained the steps which was a couple months ago long waiting list. I couldn’t remember what they use but a lot of steps I don’t think he said lacquer it was some other coating. We didn’t get into samples because at that time I thought I knew what colors but thanks to this site and you I have a little more knowledge. Your the second person to say snowbound so that will be it. I do want lowers darker. My choices were mindful gray and Dorian, but I saw Judy choice even darker then your choices which look a little lighter but I like them all. What do you think of white ceiling or all one color gray ? Darker or lighter than lower cabs? Thank you Beth.

I don't know about those two grays for your walls. Dorian is too green, and both may be a tad dark.

wait until the cabs are done before picking a wall color. You'll want to see how the cab colors look w/all your lighting

I like a white ceiling. A nice, bright white. they make a ceiling paint in a bright white that's already to go out of the bucket. no need to have it tinted.

For example, here is Alabaster and Agreeable Gray

Alabaster is a white that has yellow undertones, while your Snowbound has a cooler, pink (red) undertone.

If you want a darker lower cab, try the two on the left. On the right, you can see the grays in the right column that lean more taupe, while the left column has slight green undertones. Dovetail takes on a bit more brown/lavender hues.

You can really see the green undertone in Dorian once it's all done. Do you see it? (I know you want it for your walls, but I just want you to see how the color really looks. on the walls it can be rather dark, and also has more of a gray/green undertone)

Is the grout in you tile that dark, or is it just stained?

Did you know you apply a Grout Renew product that will lighten the grout? I think it will make a pretty good difference in the overall look

as you can see, it leans more on the taupe end. With your tiles, I think you need for of a taupe/warmer gray and not the cooler green/or blue grays.

side by side, you can tell which ones lean more green/gray (Mindful gray) as opposed to the greige or taupe grays (Wordly, Agreeable)

A few others. If you want to do a darker wall color, look at a few of these

And for the walls, you could always go w/a BM color. Your painter (if he's doing your cabinets w/a pre-cat lacquer, won't be using an actual SW color, unless he's going w/their lacquer conversion)

can paint w/any paint. he probably gets a deal with SW, but you can ask for BM for your walls.

Beth I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to help me. It helps to have a visual. I was thinking Dorian or mindful for lower cabs not walls. I was going with agreeable gray for walls but I will follow your advice and wait for cabs to be painted. Gauntlet gray is nice never thou to go that dark. I do like the warm grays on right and will give me some thought. You have already taken some pressure off of me. Thank you !

Beth also the grout is just stained so I will look at that product if it will help my color choices. I really like the picture!

here's RiverWhite granite (yours) and Snowbound. similar backsplash too. I think it's the perfect white for your cabs. Notice the wall color with it.

gave you a brushed nickel pull, and one in a black nickel.

Snowbound w/a darker island. looks like Gauntlet gray

Try getting a grout cleaner product to take off as much dirt and grime that you can. get a stiff grout cleaning brush too. use the product, rinse and wipe clean, and then use the grout renew product. (you don't want to take the time and paint the product over grimy dirt. it won't look right)

I can't stress enough for you to get some samples of your own and try them out. Get some old cabinet doors that you can spray on a primer, and then paint your samples on those. (I'd say use your own doors, but you don't want to start adding paint to them. People are always giving away old cabinets. If you can't do that, go to Home Depot and get a few pine boards or those larger pieces. prime them white.

you can also use thick pieces of cardboard. Always prime them white first.

Then try your darker sample on them. prop them up on the lowers against your flooring. This way you'll have an exact idea of what yours will look like.

In fact, I actually found a combo of Snowbound and Gauntlet Gray!

they have darker granite and floors, but at least you can see the two together

I love it that is my backsplash! I like the gauntlet gray as well. Nice wall colors I didn’t think of as I have just been tunnel vision with agreeable gray. Stress is disappearing Beth!

now is your chance to do new hardware. the painters can fill the single holes w/your knobs (on your drawers) and it will allow you to do actual handles.

Have them fill all of your holes so you can pick something different.

do something like this if you like:

On the doors, they can just fill the higher hole, leaving the bottom hole as is. Of course, if you can find a new pull w/the exact same hole measurement, you're fine! (but chances are you won't, so it's easier if they fill the upper hole).

I think handles will look better on your drawers, so those middle holes can also be filled.

I had my cabinets painted last year. I changed up all my hardware so all the previous holes were filled. I found a larger handle and went with those on everything.

for you pantry door, how about a salvaged wood door??

or, do something cool like this one, and paint it another color, add vintage hardware

go to a Restore place and find an old door w/your measurements. Refinish it. it's pretty easy to do

Or, paint your door another color. a darker gray maybe? or whatever other accent color you have in the room?

Beth , I love all your ideas and I will do that with floors. I will read those links on gauntlet gray as I like it in pictures but not sure if it is too dark in my kitchen. I will ask painter if they will let me see before permanent application. I was planning painting door on pantry so I’m glad I got your approval!

Beth yes I was going to change hardware I just wasn’t sure what color. I’m not a big fan of black as I like bronze and brushed nickel. I even looked at brass but that probably wouldn’t be a good fit. I’m so set on wanting the two tone so I have been looking at gauntlet gray and dovetail and I think there was one other. I would of went with mindful gray if I didn’t get advice on going darker. Then looking at all the wall colors you photo shopped.

Snowbound is the only sure color at this point. Thank you

just stick w/the cab for now. you can always get back to the wall color. walls are so much easier to do when you have the other players set.

grab your samples and some heavy cardboard. then just paint them (prime it white first) . see how they look in your space against your tile

The first one is dovetail 2nd one is Gauntlet gray and then the lighter colors is anew gray and Dorian gray all Sw.
