Gift Ideas - share yours for girls/women?
Comments (57)It's a challenge to get gift ideas our of our daughters, but every year 2 of them ask for cashmere sweaters. Lord and Taylor Cashmere are now half off. Also scored on Ann Taylor cashmere when it was half off on Cyber Monday. Just bought the wine socks (shown above) online for one DD. So cute, I've seen them in stores. Those were a suggestion from one DD. Another DD just sent me a link to this, which is a video on Face Book: No, I'm not buying it! DH always gives the girls a nice hand-picked selection of wines--6 each. This year 2 DD's who live together are adopting a Sphynx cat next month and we are all very happy to have a new feline member of the family. We are scurrying to buy her the things she will need. Such fun!...See MoreXmas & Holiday shopping. What have you bought & are U happy w/quality
Comments (67)In my heading I wrote... would you buy again and are you happy with the quality. This is an update on the kids Splendid brand tee shirt. No, I would not buy again. I think thirty some dollars for a kids Tee is pricey. I did it though because I wanted a more substantial cotton. I mean, I don't know if this is a developing 9yr old or not and didn't want flimsy see- thru-ish. It came wadded up in a bag and although cute it is a ripoff for the price. I could have gone to Old Navy and spent $7.00. Cute but over priced....See MoreOh please! Who are these people?!?
Comments (64)In the OP, I find it rare that a wedding would not have an extra chicken entree available due to a no-show or possible miscount (or contingency), and a supplemental charge would simply not happen to the hosts (and thus, making the Reddit fiction, as is common there). I've been to dry weddings and thought nothing of it. I'm just happy to celebrate the event in the way hosts saw fit, and respect the wishes of the hosts. I've not been honored to attend a vegan wedding, but I have been to a birthday dinner (complete with a cake that I could not finish and discretely hid. It was a gluten-free, vegan cake that just had too much cold shortening in thick frosting and grainy flour alternatives in it). And there is too much rubber chicken at weddings, I agree, but I've been to Chinese receptions with terrific food (at a top SF restaurant), and an elegant and delicious reception in France....See MoreNeed to make a veggie tray - ugh!
Comments (44)i love that you made the skewers self standing! The question of how much people eat is deserving of its own thread. I'd think the cookbook ladies would bring appetites, but maybe if they gained the “Covid 19” they were being very careful? When the hoards come to my house the eat like locusts. Less now that the mean age is higher, but they eat. At open to all lunches post-services, where the food is pretty spare—enough for everybody, just, but little variety—there's usually only enough left to prove there was enough for everybody, but if there's a morning bagel breakfast meeting, there are usually a lot of leftovers. I don't know if that's poor planning, if the current generation want something different in the morning, or that the discount for bulk hits right around the quantity needed. Most people don't eat before services and if they're eating after, they're probably not on their way to another meal. Perhaps at a 9 or 10 o’clock breakfast/brunch, they've already eaten or are going to have lunch after. I was once in charge of such things for a ladies’ group, and other than tem asking for more protein and veg, and adjusting the bagel count for those who would break a half bagel in half, rather than taking a half bagel and eating how much they wanted, they all ate well, always....See More- 3 years ago
