Pleas share your idea's for gifts for kids to make.
Comments (9)Here is a post for sugar shakers to make with kids that I posted a couple of years ago. Someone else on here gave me the idea to add cinnamon and now we call them 'cinnamon sprinkles'. We make these almost every year and my kids love it. I buy the cheapest generic salt and pepper shakers I can find. We make them in Christmas colors. Every child gets a bag with a cup of sugar, food coloring, and cinnamon to shake. Leave one bag without food coloring. It adds a little variety in the layering. Also, I find it helps to dry them in the oven a little while so it doesnt clump. It may need to be a two day project for the class. Keep a plate or bowl under the shakers when you are filling them to catch the spills. At the end, make a little tag saying to use the cinnamon sprinkles on hot buttered toast for cinnamon toast. Tie on with curly ribbon. It makes a nice gift because it is consumable and the kids do get to help with a majority of the work. Comments (119)My boyfriend and I were with the 250,000 in NYC. We came from his house in Brooklyn, and the subway was jam-packed. Got off at Grand Central Station onto a very crowded 42nd Street and got swept into the crowd up 5th Avenue. 10 blocks away from Trump Tower it was impossible to move even on 6th and Madison Avenues & crowds spilled over onto Park as well – the entire mid-town of Manhattan was taken over. There were men and women of all ages, colors, languages and persuasions and everyone was polite, helpful and respectful. I didn’t see any anti-protests. When we had dinner on 2nd Avenue I was shocked to see on TV the lying press conference by Sean Spicer. It was so much like the dictatorships in 3rd-world countries when he said this was the biggest inaugural celebration in history, period, and that's how it must be reported. Wow. We must keep up the fight....See MoreShare your gift idea finds here 2019
Comments (187)robo, for your FIL, what about a t-shirt(s), hat, car sticker or water bottle from your area, his hometown, his service or university, something he can sport in FLA whilst jogging. And yes, I know this is the second time on this thread that I have mentioned this kind of regalia, because I feel your pain, thankfully we don't exchange with the outlaws anymore, but when we did, FIL, ugh, he loves presents, but asks for nothing, then is disappointed when his mind isn't read. Or a road atlas of Florida to look for interesting day trips/explore the area? A NS or CA flag to fly in Florida or a book on the history of their area of Florida. For my daughter, who is a 21 yo college senior and really into cooking, I've picked up a few things at Aldi, all for a song; crock pot, Staub-like pan, Ambiano stand mixer (got damn good review for $69.00 US) and a stock pot. The Aldi "Finds" are always interesting, and some good things interspersed with lots of made in China leggings and toys. So glad I only have dd and dh to buy for! We don't exchange with anyone else, and while some family members feel we are Scrooge personified, most don't, and I don't care anyway, the pursuit of gifts for people we see once every few years is crazy, and I'm much happier donating to our local food bank and no-kill animal shelter in place of those presents....See MoreFavorite gift shop; share yours
Comments (36)Absolute best that I remember, Mtn.. though my memory might take me to Tuesday last week. LOL I know people are going to throw stuff at me -- but i started christmas shopping this week (maybe last week?). I saved links to all these sites and have have partial shopping carts going. I was out with one of my nieces and her friend this afternoon and picked up two more things. I feel like I am totally organized and on the ball.. AND I have some great gifts! I am sad that my favoritist Sophia Digard raffia bag (which happened to be on sale) is sold out but when I have time to focus, I will search one out. ETA no, my favoritist is sold out but wasn't on sale. I could have made do with the one that was on sale but is sold out....See Morejojoco
