Oh! for Heaven's sake!!
Comments (13)Gotta dig out from under the limb to see what is totally wiped out. It will take muscles and the ability to use a chainsaw. It can wait because of the heat. I wouldn't ask anyone to work when it is 100 degrees or more outside. My car is okay. I wasn't looking forward to living without wheels until mine were repaired. Something good has arrived with the fallen limb. There are all kinds of birds checking out Nature's decorating skills and they approve wholeheartedly. Mr.and Mrs. Towhee now have plenty of places to hide from the neighbor's cat. The Titmouse family stopped by to offer their condolences for the loss of my bird feeder. I took them up on their offer to clean up the spilled seeds. They did a good job and it didn't cost anything for the cleanup. There was a big fight between the Robins and the Mockingbird families but I think they've settled their differences. Perhaps I should take a lesson from them and not be so hard on my own neighbors. On second thought the Robins won that fight by kicking butt. The Sparrow children are taking frequent baths now much to the delight of their parents. The Hummingbirds have a great spot right next to the kitchen window where they can sit and have lunch and not be disturbed by anything. Sometimes the good just outweighs the bad....See MoreAnyone willing to post a pictorial of Pests to look for?
Comments (6)Sprouts and Dave, thanks. Don't know how I missed this thread. Dave, the pest link in Earl's post is dead, at least for me. I found some beetles yesterday on a potted OTV. They looked similar to but not exactly like Japanese Beetles. The bronze iridescence was similar but no green and no band of white knobs. Didn't notice any damage but there were about 6 on one plant and no other. Gave em flick. Aphids and hornworms are usually all I have to worry about in numbers. A few stink bugs and a few leaffooted but not bad. Finding the fruit worms the other night and the beetles yesterday raises my need for education. Not growing anything new this yr that would attract new pests and as you can see from the pics, my neighborhood is pretty stable. Thanks again....See Morepressure tank problem, water hammer plus
Comments (4)We just washed dishes with running water from our sink for the first time since last winter. Joed, you were absolutely correct. I suspect we had a faulty tank from the factory because we have had a problem with a small leak since we installed the pump and pressure tank. I ordered a new pressure tank (which was only about $14) last spring to see if I could get the leak to stop, but didn't have time to install it before we left for the summer. Today, we removed the old pressure tank and replaced it, and as soon as we reconnected the lines and turned on the pump, it pressurized, then kicked off. We turned on the sink faucet and it flowed in a clean, beautiful stream of water with the tank maintaining utter silence for nearly a minute before it kicked on again. It is so nice to have running water again. Thank you so much for your excellent suggestions. We did not have a super accurate tire gauge (2 out of three were stuck and one did not go high enough) but we think we got it ballpark and will double check with a new gauge. The manufacturer's suggestion was 28 psi, so we aimed for that and everything seems to be working dandy. Thanks a ton, we really appreciate it!!! sagebrushsally and her sethsquatch...See MoreAnj, regarding posting pics
Comments (3)Hi Anj, I read the new post, and it is great. Much easier for the newbies too I think. Thank you so much for doing that. ((((hugs)))) I know, Photobucket is always making a little change here or there. Keeps me guessing sometimes--I'm such a creature of habit. I need to start doing the side by side steps for my multiple pics I guess. Mostly, just lazy or in a hurry I think! LOL Luvs P.S. Oh, I'll contact Admn and see if they can make it stay at the top--or should I wait until you get the Freebie site post updated too. I know allot of the newbies love that one--I keep forgetting about it--not that I really need any more patterns right now! LOL Luvs...See MoreChi
