beekeeperswife, I'd recommend that you go to a high end tile store to "see" mounted tiles. You can bring a sample board back to your house to view it in your home with your cabinets/countertop. ( They sound like a gorgeous combination!) The backsplash could be any number of blends. While I think it is Veil, the squares look pretty tiny compared to mine. Oceanside has a smaller mosaic field called "Facets" = For some reason, I can't copy the page info. Go to the link below, then click on products/by collection/facets/blends and you can see "Veil" in half inch tile. I am fairly certain that it will be very pricey, quite a bit more than the Veil in the one inch tile. We did it sort of backwards - I have purchased what I like that is high quality over long periods of time at a very low price - most of it works, however while I love the price, practicality and lay out of of my well built (albeit second hand) QuakerMaid cabinets we installed, I am now trying to convince my dh to let me paint them. And while I really love my butcher block countertops in most of my kitchen, I really want Danby Marble in my baking area. We are somewhat stalled at the moment, and hope to be able to continue in a few weeks. Life is rich. I wish that I could show you a picture of the backsplash installed. I can't even show you a picture of the fronts of the tiles, as they are paper faced. Sorry. I purchased the Oceanside Veil Glass Tile on Craigslist (leftover from a job). FYI, is usually about $35 a square foot for that one inch tile blend. I paid a lot less. (Some of their more complicated patterns run upwards of $65 a square foot - it wouldn't surprise me if the Facets run close to $50, as the tile is hand crafted - the smaller the tile, the more tile that needs to be handled per square foot = an increase in cost.) We pretty much love everthing about the sink. Aside from the looks which we obviously liked and the fact that no one we know has one, it has been pretty much maintenace free. There are certain foods which strip the color off and leave shiny bright copper spots. But within a day the sink starts to patina(darken) and it looks seamless again. And we've poured plenty of hot and boiling water down the drain and it's never been an issue. Copper is also naturally anti-bacterial so that's another added bonus. We also heard some of the warnings about the copper from Mexico. I will say ours is stoutly made and it weighed a ton. I went with one of the ebay sellers who had been around for awhile and looked through alot of feedback. That's about all I can think of to tell you. If you want I have pics of what it looked like before it was used and how it looks now after a year of use with no more upkeep other than soap and water.

The counter is Caesarstone 'Buttermilk'. I wouldn't recommend it though because I think I got a bad batch. Our fabricator is replacing it with something almost identical from another quartz company. When they cleaned the epoxy off with Barkeeper's Friend and acetone, as the Caesarstone rep told them to do and they've done many times, it took the shine off the surface. An edge chipped two weeks after install for no reason, and the pattern has white finger-print looking blotches all over it that is NOT on any of the samples. Caesarstone wouldn't do anything about it, and I felt their QC was lacking, so we switched to Pental Chroma 'Botticino'. It's a PNW company, so we could view the slabs first in Portland. The floor is porcelain tile from Daltile called Florenza 'Sabbia'. It's 18 x 18 tile laid in an offset pattern. There's a lot of variation from tile to tile, so if you're considering tile, be aware of that. We thought we made a mistake when they opened the boxes and there was more gold than anticipated, but it ended up looking great with the counter.

Neglected to add a picture of my (2) island pendants. Hudson Valley offers a smaller semi flush that's 10.75'' D. It comes in white & satin nickel or solid satin nickel.
