Discombobulated - food and eating during stressful times

And isn’t this the ultimate stressful time? I feel so genuinely lucky in the midst of everything that is going on but nonetheless I am still feeling constantly low grade stressed. The election, a Covid uptick, several extended family deaths, my mom fell and hurt her back, an impending long isolated winter etc....

Anyone else feel like their meals are out of whack? I made a big beef mushroom barley soup last night. I enjoyed a bowl last night. Brought my mom and her SO some tonight which they loved. Came home and all I wanted a bowl of granola and to go to bed. I think I will freeze half the soup tomorrow. I feel like I am doing that a lot lately. I make pasta and want burgers or vise versa. I am trying to take extra care of late but feel like my rhythm is off. How is everyone else doing?

Side note:

My lovely ‘aunt‘ died a couple of weeks ago. I am very happy that my mom, sister and I went down to Portland to visit her and my cousin the week before. She was a central adult in my childhood world.

She was a poet, a teacher and a long time peace activist. A local cartoonist made one of my favorite memorial cartoons ever...
