Granite colors to complement Gray Pink Fireplace
Comments (22)I mistakenly posted this to the wrong person... can you believe that! I went through the entire answer, submitted, and then the OP wrote back that I must have been confused. So, I went back, copied, and am pasting it in to whom I meant it to be for! I feel so STUPID! boxer kills me with all those fabulous pics. I try and post/research but get so sidetracked staring at and following all the pics/links. I'm just not feeling the dark granite for your space. From your pics it seems almost like a Mid Century kind of home... BEAUTIFUL! I think your stonework on your fireplace is just gorgeous. I would not paint it. However, with all the angular lines of the walls/ceilings/stonework; I'm somewhat bothered by the wood walls. I love wood, covet your wood floors; but I do think your home would be so much more "refreshed" without the wood walls. I also think it would make the fireplace really POP. I'd either take the wood off and skim coat/paint, or I know I've seen episodes on some home remodeling show where they used some product to fill in the cracks and then skim coated/painted, OR... last resort... pull the wood off and re-sheetrock and paint. I'd love a soft gray color against that stone.... a warm light gray. ANyway... to countertops. Are you kitchen floors the same wood? Sorry if I missed that somewhere. I think I'd choose a light almost white gr anite for the kitchen. Your cabs are going to be a beautiful rich color. If the floors are also wood, I'd love the soft look of a whiteish granite. HOw about something like Andromeda White? Alku05 has it in her gorgeous kitchen. I hope it's OK I'm embedding her pic: A closeup from Granitestock's site: Another one could be Kashmir White. It has a little bit of brown in it: One more...GraniteStock calls it Wine River. I don't know what else it goes by but it's a white with movement: Let me know likes/dislikes and we can go from there. There are a million great backsplash choices to tie this all in!...See MoreWhite. White! White?
Comments (45)I'm not sure of the warranty to be honest (Sorry I just saw your post now for some reason). All I know is that TCE has the same (approximate) ratio of Quartz to Resin as the "bigger" quartz guys (ie. Caesarstone, Silestone, etc). I was afraid because of where it was manufactured it would have less actual quartz in it, but I found out they use about the same percentage (approx 93%). I was also talking to an installer who has dealt with all the brands, and he said people are very happy with their TCE products and that they hold up really, really well. So that put my mind at ease! I think like with any of the engineered stone products, you need to exercise some caution (ie. not cut beets directly on the counter, not leave red wine sitting there for long periods of time) but in general it's much more durable and resistant to staining than a marble!...See Morec. 1763 Georgian paint suggestions please
Comments (6)Our house is from 1852 and has original floors with a lot of red tones in the wood. We paid for a pricey color consultant and she nailed it. What we used might not work for you at all because of a difference in lighting and every other factor that goes into finding the perfect paint. But we love our choices - all Ben Moore: Walls : Soft Chamois - OC 13 - Eggshell Ceiling : Soft Chamois- OC 13 - Matte Trim: Cloud White- 0C-031- Satin A few tips from our experience, which you might already know: She painted the samples in 14x14 squares on the walls in at least three different places because light is different in different areas of the room. Then she came to look at them at three times of day. Additionally, are your light bulbs ones that you can play with to achieve a different warmer or cooler tone that might help reduce the red look?...See MoreCould you please suggest some BM paint colors for my home?
Comments (26)Thanks Design Interior South for your comments and reference to “boob lights”. Ha haha ... I am definitely replacing them now! Yes I’ll keep the tile floors but will likely put rugs on them. Staircase...yes needs to be updated for sure. I got a few quotes and it’s nearly 4000 to paint. I can get new spindles and posts for this much which I think would make a bigger impact than just painting. Happy to hear if you disagree. Re the kitchen, I’ll be getting a white/cream quartz countertop with an overhang plus changing the backsplash to match/complement the countertop. Hopefully that will lighten up the very dark kitchen nook. The other option is to paint the cabinets white which I am still thinking about....See MoreLori A. Sawaya
