This week is a bit of a mash up. We'll start with time pieces, celebrate electshun day, and finish up the week with a city scape, a rural landscape, and a street scene.

Today is electshun day in the US, so let's celebrate freedom, those who fought for it, those who fight to keep it, and the power of the people's voices to be heard in the US and around the world.

I have never been in such a large crowd before, probably won't be ever again...750,000 voices. Most amazing was when they did the verbal "wave". You'd hear a loud roar like a freight train coming from one side, it would approach, you'd join the roar when it hit you and then it would continue beyond you down the road.

Annie's clock is in the heart of Prague, in the Czech Republic. When it rings the figures start moving, some of the doors above the clock face and to the left of the clock face open and other figures come out. When I was there with my brother in 1990, we were standing in front of the clock waiting for it to ring. My brother handed me his camera saying he was having trouble lining the shot up due to his glasses. I took the camera, looked through the viewfinder, lined up the shot, and pressed the button. The camera took the picture, and then started rewinding the film -- it was the last shot on the roll. My brother shouted at me "No, I meant 2 minutes from now when the clock starts ringing!" "I knew it was the last shot on the roll and didn't want to miss the shot, since we don't have any more rolls with us at the moment" To this day when we get together he will still sometimes upbraid me for my error.

Quite a t-shirt on your daughter, lgmd_gaz. Good thing she went to the holy land when she did. Travel has been pretty well impossible since shortly after that. Good wishes to her on her retirement: hope she has many healthy, happy and fruitful years to enjoy it. ole joyful

I have had this grandfather clock since 1986 when I was living in Baltimore and my sister and I visited our brother in North Carolina. He found a shop with grandfather clocks and he and my niece had recently bought clocks there. So we went and met the owner and both my sister and I bought clocks as well! The owner of the shop happened to be making a delivery to another person in Baltimore, so he delivered and set mine up personally. It moved with me back to my hometown of Cincinnati in 1998. The moving guys did a great job of packing it up and getting it to me. I do love it and I love the memory of finding it with my siblings. It was a fun trip.

This was the line at the local early voting site on Sunday 10/25, the first day here. It’s not easy to see but there are two rows of people. The one closest to the street is the end of the line. It circled the entire block. My husband and I finally went on Friday. It was the first day the line was shorter.

NJ makes voting by mail so simple I haven't been to the poles in over 20 years.

Our flag flying over the US Embassy in Prague.

We spent several days in Prague, we were visiting St Vitas Cathedral. As I looked out over the hill, I saw our flag flying. It just made my heart soar!

I still believe that I am blessed, fortunate , however you want to put it, to be a citizen of the United States. But my pride in my country is a little shaky these days. I sincerely hope that the results of this electshun will help me regain my love and respect for my government.
