For the holidays, let's invent air hugs?

Something happened at the mall that got me really thinking about this...obsessing really, cause that's how I roll...HAHA! So, I was at the mall yesterday because it was so ugly out and wanted to do something, was also curious about what was left of our mall. As I walked through Macy's, I saw an incident. One Macy's employee sees this other employee and goes "OH MY GOSH, how are you, I haven't seen you in ages (or something like that)!!!!!" and proceeds to walk up to the lady and give her a kind of a distance hug but still touches her and gets too close for comfort. I'm watching this happen and the other lady, you could tell she was uncomfortable and wasn't sure what the other woman was going to do. It just makes for a very uncomfortable situation. So, I started thinking that with the covid spreading like wild fire right now and holidays coming up, we should invent the "air hug" where you just stand at least 6 feet apart and spread out your arms and say "hugs hugs" or something like that. Yes, they had on masks, but still, I could tell it was awkward for the other lady. We don't want our family holiday get togethers to spread this around. So, how about if you are the huggy type, just do an air hug and don't go and touch your family and friends? I know from talking to other people, they have expressed a concern about other people wanting to hug them at their holiday gatherings. I think we should be able to see family, if we realize that they have been going and doing things, they could or we could possible be spreading covid.

So anyway, am I weird for wanting to invent the "air hug" and get the word out....too ambitious? HA!
