Sedum...I had barely finished reading your post when I picked up my keys and zoomed over to the sale! Wow...great stuff - I got so much! And - I found "Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate" which I had been looking for. So thanks Sedum for the heads up on the sale! If anyone is planning on going, I would go today before they close at 5 or very early tomorrow. Things were going very fast today and the man running the sale said that they had everything for sale already out on display. Now where in the heck am I going to put 20 heirloom tomatoes? Thanks for the heads-up, Lynn. I got 4 more Stars and Stripes dessert/salad plates for 25% off. I already have 4 - got them on an After-The-Season Sale last summer. I don't think they were any more of a deal last August then they are right now. I've putting off getting the additional 4 and decided that God must have wanted me to have them or he wouldn't have sent me a sign (your post). I REEEEALY wanted to get the red star bowls like Kathleen has, but they are too expensive right now. Kathleen has the white ones (maybe the red too). She uses them at Christmas and odd times as well as for patriotic dinners. I have dish envy ever time she sets a table with them. Has everyone in your household recovered after your marathon End-of-School doings?

It's something about human nature. Wave the term "sale" under people's noses and they are so enthralled they lose all sanity. A guy who used to work for me got a call from his wife the one day. He hung up the phone and got the funniest look on his face. He came over to me and said it just hit him what his wife said. They had been to a local store and saw a torchier lamp they liked (when they were in style) and wanted to get. It was "on sale" for $69.00. OK. Jim had stopped at Kmart for something and saw the identical lamp (same mfgr and model number) for $29.99. He told his wife and her response? No way. Why? "But that one's not on sale! He shook his head. And we have had a lot of laughs about it. Sad thing is she was dead serious.

I went to a sale that my sister saw on Craigslist. I got: William A Rogers silver plated apple basket - still in box Talbots leather purse 2 new rolls of wrapping paper Oneida "Grande Cafe" 41 oz double wall brushed stainless steel carafe - new - still in box - keeps stuff hot for 6 hours (perfect for garage sales or parades! - really nice!) Hard eyeglass case with a cool design Two decorative pots for my office A recipe card holder Jenga - doesn't look used Deluxe Uno - new - still in cellophane heavy metal corn cob holders (that's what she said they were - might be pickle forks but there's a lot of them) There might be more - I can't remember. I got all of that for $10. Woo hoo!!!
