Bathroom mirror size over double vanity - single or double?
Comments (10)I prefer two mirrors as well because I think it gives a more balanced look and it provides defined spaces, his and hers in our case. Your statement about wanting to make it so that 3 people can use it is what has me curious though, is this a what if type scenario or is a 3rd person actually going to be in there all the time? The reason I ask is because DH and I used to make choices based on the what if's a lot. We'd spend the money or compromise on what we really wanted only to never have those "what if's" materialize. We bought a crew cab truck so if we needed to we could tote people but never once did anyone sit back there. We turned a room (that could have been my craft room) in to a guest room and in 10 years it's only been used a handful of times and an air mattress would have worked just as well. So if you want the big mirror because it will actually be used in the context you're planning for, great...then there's a need and that would be the more functional choice for your situation, but if you're just thinking well maybe 3 people might need it, then don't focus on that and do what is more practical for your every day living. Comments (20)With something like this I might cheat the countertop (if necessary) to touch the door millwork and then run the mirror to the backsplash, from the tower, to the door frame and possibly to the ceiling or molding and put the lighting on the mirror too. It's not a popular look in GW, but I see full float mirror a fair amount, and since you are dealing with the switch issue if may be the simplest way to manage it....See MoreBathroom mirror vanity light swap or switch out mirror/light entirely?
Comments (2)Here is your dilemma. if you take down those fixtures there will be two holes in the mirror, that being said, they will be up high and most likely off center. So, to get new lighting that is not stuck in the corners, and covers the holes behind it, might be next to impossible unless you run a thick bar that covers the space. But some times back in the day they only drug wire over and did not put in actual junction boxes, so the bringing it to code might be another issue. 1. take one of the lights down and see what is going on 2. probably have to replace the mirror and move the electrical location....See Morebathroom vanity pendant vs over the mirror lighting dilemma
Comments (8)either do a whole wall framed mirror and mirror mount the sconces or get smaller mirrors. pendants in bathrooms are decorative IMO But do say you cant find any over the mirror that you like? there are have to be at least 800 choices, for example the one you like probably comes in a mutli head option. try kichler, hinkely, murray fiess, hudson valley lighting, minka lavery go to their actual websites and look through that way you will not be overwhelmed by say the vast amount on a lighting on line website....See MorePeke
