Advice on living without a kitchen?

Hello folks. I am two weeks away from having no kitchen for 10 weeks. I’ve done remodels in which I lived at home, but never without a kitchen. I would appreciate any lessons learned anyone can share with me. The remodel will go until the end of Jan in upstate NY, so I don’t have the ability to use the outdoors for food prep or cooking. Garage is off limits bc the contractor will be using it. So I will need to use a bedroom. I have a mini fridge, and a full size fridge in the garage, as well as a microwave and a toaster oven/air fryer. I will be cooking for two at the most, and will have to wash dishes in a shallow bathroom sink, so I don’t plan to use a crockpot.

One thing I can’t solve is how do I protect the surfaces under the cooking appliances from the heat? I can put them on a folding table or on a wooden painted window seat. Neither of those seems like a good idea for cooking on unless I put something under it, but what? Thoughts and feedback are most appreciated.
